LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Joe Rogan took a shot at Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama following their speeches at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

The comedian criticized their focus on poverty and income inequality despite their substantial personal wealth.

Joe Rogan calls out wealth discrepancy

On his Thursday, August 29 podcast episode of 'The Joe Rogan Experience', Rogan expressed his frustration with Oprah Winfrey's speech on income inequality.

The podcaster pointed out the irony of wealthy people like Winfrey and Obama speaking on issues of financial disparity without acknowledging their fortunes, reported Daily Mail.

Rogan's comments follow his recent criticism of MSNBC, accusing the network of editing clips of his podcast to falsely suggest he was endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.

Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama focus on humble beginnings and inequality

At the DNC held in Chicago from August 19 to 22, both Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama shared stories of their humble beginnings while criticizing former president Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

Speaking about the importance of protecting democracy, Winfrey said, "It requires standing up to life's bullies," and highlighted her personal experiences with "racism and sexism and income inequality and division."

The Trump campaign quickly responded by resurfacing a letter Winfrey sent to Trump in 2000, before he entered politics, in which she praised him and suggested, "Too bad we're not running for office... what a team!"

Echoing Winfrey’s sentiments, Michelle Obama focused on the values of "hard work, humility, and decency."

In her speech, the former first lady reflected on her family's modest aspirations and said, "She and my father didn’t aspire to be wealthy. In fact, they were suspicious of folks who took more than they needed."

She further emphasized the importance of community and noted, "It wasn’t enough for their kids to thrive if everyone else around us was drowning."

Joe Rogan's response to Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama's DNC Speeches

Joe Rogan criticized Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama's speeches for not addressing their wealth.

On his podcast, the 57-year-old said, "How about Oprah? Oprah was talking about her and Trump running together, and now she’s speaking to the DNC that he’s a threat to democracy."

"She’s up there talking about income inequality, like, ‘Hey lady, you’re rich as f**k'... How is that equal?" he asked.

He then took issue with Obama’s remarks about her family’s wariness of excessive wealth, stating, "When Michelle Obama was saying, you know, I think she was saying her mother or grandmother was always suspicious of people who took more than they needed."

"Like, you are worth so much money. That’s so crazy. You did it on a civil servant’s salary which is insane," he noted.
