WASHINGTON, DC: Days before the scheduled UFC fight at the White House on the occasion of President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday, Joe Rogan, who will be providing commentary for the Sunday, June 14, fight, remarked that he wouldn’t have approved the event if he ran the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

June 14 happens to be Flag Day, the anniversary of the US Army's founding and President Trump's 80th birthday. It also comes just under three weeks before the United States' 250th anniversary.

Joe Rogan says the UFC fight is 'gonna be sick'

Rogan was joined by author and bowhunter Cameron Hanes on Friday’s 'The Joe Rogan Experience', where Rogan offered some mixed thoughts about Sunday’s fights after Hanes said he felt uncomfortable with the federal government trying to “entertain” people.

While Rogan appeared less concerned about why the Trump administration was entertaining people, he deliberated on whether an indoor fight would have been a better option.

“I’m not negative, but I’m not positive either,” Rogan said, noting that his criticism of the president and the upcoming event has gotten plenty of attention.

“I don’t like it because I think they should be fighting indoors, always. I think world championship fights at the highest level should be fought in a controlled environment. That said, it’s gonna be sick,” Rogan said.

“If I was running the UFC, I would have never wanted to do it. I would say- we can’t do it. They have to be in a controlled environment,” Rogan added, noting that he would never run the UFC.

Rogan then elaborated on why he doesn't think that the fight would be successful.

“We can’t have someone win or lose because they’re outside and it’s muggy. That doesn’t make any sense to me,” Rogan continued, adding that people would be sweaty and it’s going to be "hot oil wrestling."

Joe Rogan anticipates Trump haters at UFC fight

The podcasters further mentioned the weather forecast, adding that if it rains, then they would be “f****d.”

"I think if they cancelled it and moved it indoors, it’d be better for everybody. I don’t like it. I think the idea was, like, they want the octagon, the White House behind it for image and everything,” Rogan stated.

"Like, that is gonna be dope. The card is sick," he added.

Rogan predicted that even with the complications, it’ll likely be the "most-watched sporting event” in history." He added that even Trump “haters” would be tuning in.
