WASHINGTON, DC: Senator John Fetterman, has backed President Joe Biden while giving the example of his own "difficult" debate with Republican Dr Mehmet Oz in 2022 following last week’s Presidential debate.

Biden faced Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on June 27 but several reports claimed that the commander-in-chief’s performance was poor and he did not seem in good health.

But while appearing on ‘Fox News Sunday’, Fetterman dismissed calls from various quarters for the President to drop out of the Presidential race. The Pennsylvania senator told host Shannon Bream, “There's no value in, in any of those things. I mean, there was that same kind of a freak out after my debate. And in fact, I might even say that I had a more difficult evening than the president did,” as reported by Fox News.

He continued, “And here I am right now, having this conversation. And I really like to remind everybody watching that right now, Biden is one and Trump is still zero, and he's the only person that's ever beaten Trump.

“And I really believe that Joe Biden will do that again, despite all of the Democrats wetting the bed over that kind of thing.”

John Fetterman says Joe Biden has ‘done incredibly good things’

Shannon Bream then mentioned that people are concerned about Biden’s old age while Fetterman suffered a stroke before his debate.

But the 54-year-old politician still stated, “We had a difficult debate, and yet we still managed to go on to win.”

He noted, “Now everybody was calling that… the end of my career. That was the end of this race. And everyone was predicting that I was going to lose actually by two points or more. And I smoked Oz by five points. And that's why I'm saying it's like one debate.”

“It's not a career any more than Donald Trump's… convictions for felonies aren't really going to define, you know, his reputation and his presidency. And that's why they're both here again,” Fetterman added.

He also asserted, “I've watched him [Biden] for the last four years and he's done incredibly good things. I mean, he got us through that pandemic, that pandemic, that over a million Americans lost their lives through that. And look at our economy. Ours is the world's envy.”

Netizens remind John Fetterman of the difference between his and Joe Biden’s condition

A reader below the Fox News article wrote, “In Fetterman's case, the vast majority already cast their ballots (due to extreme early voting in PA.) If he would have debated before votes came in, Dr. OZ would have easily won.”

Another reader shared, “Getting elected is one thing. Being competent enough to do the job is another thing altogether.”

Someone else commented, “They're not defecting to Trump.  They're choosing the world they want their kids and grandkids to grow up in- the Democrat's Socialist world, or returning to the great America of opportunity that America once was.”

One said, “Fetterman’s recovering from a brain injury. Biden’s condition is steady elderly neurological decline. Which will only worsen with time. There’s NO comparison between their conditions. Totally different.”

“OK, so Fetterman hasn't completely recovered yet.  He fails to acknowledge the trend lines of his problem vs Joe's.  Fetterman had every reason to believe he would improve as time went on.  Joe, on the other hand, has no reason to expect improvement over time. In fact, just the opposite,” an individual added.

“Sorry, Senator. Brain damage caused by a stroke, in your case,  may be reversible. Cognitive decline from Bidenheimer's Disease is not,” a comment read.

Another comment was, “Fetterman gets it, love of party before love of country.”
