WASHINGTON, DC: Anthony Fauci defended President Joe Biden's decision to run for a second term despite widespread criticisms and concerns over the incumbent's old age.

During his appearance on ABC's 'This Week' on Sunday, June 30, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said, "You know, I think it's just an individual choice, and you really can't generalize," as per Fox News

Fauci noted that what really matters is "how they feel, what they feel they can do," adding, "You know, what their passion is, what their energy is. Those are the kinds of things."

When asked for his opinion on Biden's performance during the June 27 Presidential debate against Donald Trump, the immunologist declined to comment, saying it "would have political implications."

Fauci, however, mentioned about his time working with Biden. He shared, "He asks probing questions. He's right on point on things. So my personal experience has been quite positive with him."

Internet reacts as Anthony Fauci defends Joe Biden's choice to run for office despite criticisms over age and mental acuity

Netizens slammed Fauci as he called Biden's decision to run for office an "individual choice."

A person wrote, "No one cares what Fauci thinks or says. He belongs in federal prison."

Another sarcastically expressed, "Too bad the ‘good’ doctor didn’t feel like it was an individual CHOICE when it came to the vaccine."

"Hopefully, Fauci along with Mayorkas and Joe Biden will be indicted and put on trial once that the government changes hands in November. Those three are responsible for causing chaos, death, destruction, and threats to our national security with their policies around Covid and the southern border," claimed an individual.

"Show me anyone in the political elite class who is asserting Biden’s fitness for the presidency, and I’ll show you someone whose political livelihood and prosperity are tied to a second Biden term," argued one more.

Someone else commented, "Ha Ha, a personal choice for Joe Biden would be fine if it didn’t put the rest of us and our country at risk for dire consequences," and another person fumed, "I can't think of two people who have done more damage with their government jobs: Fauci and Biden."

"Yeah....Getting Joe back for the next 4 years means Fauci does not get nailed for his lies and mishandling of the Covid scam," offered a netizen.
