John Goodman suffers hip injury while filming Tom Cruise-starrer movie, production delayed

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: John Goodman sustained an injury while working on Warner Bros and Legendary’s latest film, directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu which stars Tom Cruise.
The production, which is filming in the UK, experienced a brief delay following the incident.
Warner Bros Pictures confirms John Goodman's injury
According to reports, the injury took place at Pinewood Studios, though the film was not being shot at the time.
The movie, currently operating under the working title 'Judy,' as per The Sun, features Tom Cruise in the lead role.
A Warner Bros Pictures spokesperson told Deadline, "Actor John Goodman experienced a hip injury."
The statement further mentioned, "He received immediate medical attention that led to a brief delay in shooting to allow him time to recover."
"The production resumes shooting next week following John’s full recovery," the spokesperson said.
John Goodman’s fall was not related to a stunt
TMZ reported, "The actor fell while on set, but it was not related to a stunt."
The report added, "He is on the mend and will be back shooting next week."
The Sun previously reported about "a horror injury on set… which put an unnamed star in hospital with injuries to his pelvis and leg."
The publication cited a source stating, "This incident won’t just be alarming in terms of having someone so famous suffer such a major injury, it will also prove costly on a project which has cost millions and is on a very tight schedule."
Tom Cruise as 'most powerful man on earth'
The film is Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s first English-language project since 'The Revenant.'
He is directing and producing the film, working from a script he co-wrote in 2023 with Nicolas Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris, and Sabina Berman.

The cast includes Sandra Huller, Riz Ahmed, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, and Sophie Wilde.
While the movie does not yet have an official title, IMDb lists a plot synopsis.
"The most powerful man in the world causes a disaster and embarks on a mission to prove that he is the savior of humanity," it says.
This is Cruise’s first project with Warner Bros Discovery since signing a deal in January. His last film with the studio was 'Edge of Tomorrow' a decade ago.
