LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: John Oliver, back on 'Last Week Tonight' from his customary end-of-summer hiatus, dove straight into more cringe-worthy moments from Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance.

According to the Daily Beast, a resurfaced clip from Vance’s 2022 Senate campaign provided fresh material for Oliver’s satire, revealing Vance “flop-sweating through some shitty jokes about Kamala Harris".

Vance's attempt at humor draws groans and boos

During a campaign stop two years ago, Vance pondered the possibility of a President Harris should Joe Biden step down. He began by mocking the current vice president’s laugh, saying, “Who I’ve heard called ‘Cackela Harris,’ because she has this weird cackle, right?”

This comment elicited no reaction from his audience.

Undeterred, Vance continued, “But I heard a joke about Kamala that I thought was pretty funny recently. That, you know, Bill Clinton was watching her on TV, and Bill thought, ‘You know, man, she’s just so condescending. She’s mean-spirited. She’s kinda nasty. Maybe I should leave my wife and marry her instead.’”

This attempt at humor was met with groans and boos from the crowd.

John Oliver shades Vance over unfunny joke

John Oliver, clearly entertained, had some advice for Vance. “Look, JD. Comedian to comedian,” he said. “Never make the set-up: I heard a joke that I thought was pretty funny recently. But if you do, make sure that what you say next is funny, and also, an actual joke.”

Oliver continued his critique, stating that Trump and Vance are “lots of things. They’re misogynists, narcissists, men who cum dead silent, plausible Masked Singer contestants. But they are also deeply weird,” echoing Democratic talking points.

“And each day seems to bring new evidence of Vance failing to connect with ordinary Americans.”

Among other notable awkward moments for the Republican vice presidential pick, Vance has called firefighters “haters” for booing him, made awkward small talk with workers at a doughnut shop, and gained viral attention for attempting to shake hands with someone offering him a fist bump.

Internet calls JD Vance 'horrible'

The backlash against JD Vance’s recent comments was swift and scathing on social media.

One user wrote, "Shady Vance is so awkward and misogynistic. Plus he offers no solutions, so nothing has changed."

Another user replied, "This guy is so horrible."

One user added, "The people in this room with jd is just as bad as jd. Laughing when jd does is hate on another woman. These women here are a disgrace to women that would laugh at this idiot."

Another commented, "I really hate this douche."

One person added, "I bet he thought he could get a “three-fer” of old hits in with this one."

Another user said, "He needs psychiatric treatment."
