LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Despite all of his family's tragedies, John Travolta remains hopeful about the future, a source has revealed.

The insider said, “Turning 70 is a milestone he’s looking forward to. Despite losing Kelly and Jett, John still has a zest for life.”

The 'Pulp Fiction' star tragically lost Kelly Preston, his wife, in 2020 as a result of bladder cancer. Jett, the 16-year-old son of Travolta and Preston, had died in 2009 following a seizure, as reported by OK Magazine.

The source said, “It’s been a struggle since Kelly died. She made life so beautiful. John misses her every day — her voice, her hugs, everything.”

John Travolta 'worked overtime to be the best father he can be'

They went on to say, "She was perfect and hilarious," adding the dad of Ella Bleu Travolta, 23, and Ben Travolta, 13, "has worked overtime to be the best father he can be."

The three-person family reportedly works hard to preserve their late loved ones' memory every day. The insider shared, “They talk about Kelly and reminisce about their fun times and their highs and their lows, too," as reported by OK Magazine.

John talked about his attempts to move past the terrible loss of his wife. He told Esquire Spain, “I learned that mourning someone, dealing with grief is something very personal."

He added, “Many people approached me, and then I felt [so] saturated with everyone’s sadness that I didn’t know what to do."

Earlier in the year, a different source disclosed the famous actor's feelings regarding dating following his divorce.

"John still considers himself married and says he will stay loyal to Kelly until the day he dies," the insider said. "It's hands off when it comes to dating. It's sad, but he's essentially taken a vow of celibacy for the rest of his life."

It appears that the 69-year-old finds it impossible to imagine "ever falling in love again" because "he says it would be a betrayal of Kelly's memory."

The source added, "He talks about Kelly constantly. Their lives were so intertwined, it's very hard for him to go on."

They observed that Travolta's children supported him during the trying time, stating, "The kids are everything to him. If it weren't for them, it's hard to know what he'd do."

The 'Grease' actor was already grieving for his wife and son, but he also had to deal with the loss of costar Olivia Newton-John.

He penned on social media in August 2022, "My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again."

He added, "Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John."
