Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau's sister Katie honors them with sweet gesture as she postpones her wedding
OLDMANS TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY: Katie Gaudreau paid tribute to her late brothers, Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, while preserving her brothers' memories in a special way.
The NHL siblings, Johnny and Matthew, who were scheduled to attend Katie's wedding the next day, died in a bicycle-car accident on August 29. And, their sister is making sure she won't ever forget the terrible deaths of her brothers.

Katie posted on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, September 7, that she had engraved Johnny and Matthew's initials "J & M" on the side of her wedding band as a tribute to her two brothers.
She posted a close-up of her new wedding band in a monochrome image with the words "J & M" on it. She was seen holding the ring up to the camera, the new inscription wedged between her fingers.
"Forever with me now. J&M," she wrote over the picture.
After learning of the NHL brothers' deaths, Katie and her fiance Devin Joyce postponed their wedding. She re-shared an Instagram picture from her fiance, saying that her brothers loved him "more than he will ever know," per People.
"They were so excited for us to get married. When the day comes they are going to be dancing and celebrating more than anyone," Katie wrote in an Instagram Story on September 3.

Katie remembers unbreakable 'bond' between brothers Johnny and Matthew
In another Instagram post, Katie included old family photos and praised the unbreakable "bond" that existed between Johnny — a hockey player for the Columbus Blue Jackets — his brother Matthew, and the rest of their family.
In a post, she mentioned how close she used to be to her "absolute best big brothers." She added, "There are absolutely no words I have to express the bond my family shared. The entire world knows there would never have been a John without Matty or Matty without John."
"This will never be a goodbye post because I will never stop saying your names and honoring you both. I’ll take the best care of mom, dad, Kristen, Mer, and Madeline, your babies," she added.
NHL forward Johnny, along with his spouse Meredith Gaudreau, have a daughter named Noa and a baby named Johnny. Meanwhile, Matthew and his wife Madeline Gaudreau were expecting their first child, per Us Weekly.

According to New Jersey State Police, Matthew and Johnny were struck and killed on Thursday, August 29, by a driver who was perhaps intoxicated when he tried to pass another car.
Sean M Higgins, 43, was driving when he crashed with another vehicle, stated the New Jersey police. Higgins is still in custody and is currently held on two counts of death by vehicle.
The event occurred as they were riding their bikes in their hometown, where the two brothers were scheduled to be groomsmen at Katie's wedding.
