PARIS, FRANCE: Simone Biles has come out in strong support of her fellow US gymnast Jordan Chiles, who is facing the possibility of losing her Olympic bronze medal just five days after securing it.

The 23-year-old gymnast's medal in the women's floor final has been called into question following a recent ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which could see her stripped of the accolade, as per Daily Mail.

Simone Biles, widely regarded as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time, expressed her solidarity with Jordan Chiles, sending a message of encouragement through social media.

"Sending you so much love, Jordan. Keep your chin up, Olympic champ! We love you!" Biles wrote as the gymnastics community and fans alike rallied around Chiles during this difficult time.

The controversy began after Chiles' score was initially bumped up by 0.1 following an appeal from her coach, which moved her from fifth to third place. However, in a shocking twist, CAS ruled that the appeal was filed outside the permissible time window, and the initial results should stand, which would demote Chiles back to fifth place and award the bronze medal to Romania's Ana Barbosu.

The ruling has sparked intense debate and backlash, particularly from Chiles' family. Her sister, Jazmin, did not hold back, taking to Instagram to criticize the decision.

"Please keep Jordan (and my family) in your prayers. Racism is real, it exists, it is alive and well," Jazmin wrote, condemning the decision as unjust and questioning the fairness of the judging process.

Jazmin further expressed her frustration, pointing out that Chiles did not lose her medal due to any fault of her own, but rather due to a technicality involving the timing of the appeal.

"FOUR SECONDS. Her bronze was stripped over 4 seconds of time that would have never needed to happen if the judges did their job," she stated, highlighting the perceived unfairness of the situation.

The situation remains unresolved as the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) have yet to make a final determination on whether Chiles will be officially stripped of her medal. While the FIG restored Barbosu to the third-place position, it stopped short of demanding the return of Chiles' medal, leaving the final decision to the IOC.

The IOC typically accepts the results managed by the sport's governing body after all appeals have been completed, but with Chiles already back in the United States, it is unclear how the situation will be handled. As of now, the IOC has not provided a statement regarding the issue, leaving the fate of Chiles' bronze medal hanging in the balance.

Jordan Chiles, the 23-year-old US gymnast, is set to lose her Olympic bronze medal after a surprising ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) overturned the results of the women's floor final. The decision, which reverts the medal to Romania's Ana Barbosu, has sparked widespread controversy among fans and observers.

One user wrote, "The only wrong doing here was the judging, declaring one didn't perform perfectly. They both performed masterfully and with expertise. The Judges should be concerned as to their future as a panelist, for they are the ones with poor performance. They both deserve medals!"

Another user wrote, "I think the judges need to apologize because they messed up in accepting Chile’s appeal in the first place. The decision seemed to change quite quickly without a thorough review. "

Another fan pointed out, "If someone’s score changes on appeal, it should trigger an automatic review for the other athletes whose placement is affected. The judges should have gotten this ironed out on the day it happened instead of waiting for a week to change it."

"Racism is real, it exists," one user acknowledged. "But not in this situation. Whether Chiles loses her medal or not, it has nothing to do with that."

"This is the right result. I am an American. The Romanian gymnast was penalized for stepping off the mat, which cameras showed was not the case. The judging was a nightmare. They never should have taken it from the Romanian gymnast to begin with," another user wrote.
