KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Three Kansas City Chiefs fans, who had gathered at their friend Jordan Willis's home to watch a game, were discovered frozen to death in the backyard.
However, Willis maintains that he had no idea of their bodies possibly being there for two days.
The bodies of David Harrington, 37, Ricky Johnson, 38, and Clayton McGeeney, 36, were found on the evening of January 9 after the fiancee of one of the men requested a welfare check.
What happened at Jordan Willis' home?
According to Daily Mail, Jordan Willis hosted a party for his friends to watch the Chiefs play the Los Angeles Chargers on January 7 at his home.
Initially, he claimed that he went to bed, leaving downstairs to hang out with an unidentified fifth man and was unaware of their situation until the fiancee of one of the men broke into the home on January 9 and found him on the back porch.
The police were then called, and the other two bodies were discovered in the backyard. When Willis opened the door for the cops, he was in his underwear, holding an empty glass of wine.
The medical examiner is yet to confirm how the victims died. Willis, who claims to be close friends with the victims, believes they froze to death.
What do the victim’s family say abouy Jordan Willis' statement?
In contradiction to Jordan Willis' statement, the families of the three victims find his explanation questionable.
Additionally, the police have not verified Willis' assertion about the presence of a fifth man in the house on the night in question.
Jennifer Marquez, Harrington's mother, expressed disbelief, stating, "Nobody believes this story—none of his friends, none of the families. None of us believe it. Everybody is furious."
Johnson's mother also voiced concerns, saying, "Something is not right."
Notably, the families of the victims are seeking answers from the police, who promptly dismissed the case as an accident.
According to Johnson's brother, Jonathan Price, he heard that the homeowner had pets that needed to go outside. He contended that the city didn't receive enough snow for the men to be concealed for days.
Price claimed, "There's many different things that don't add up, we just don't understand how somebody would at least be investigated in any way. We've heard that he's moving out as well, so we don't know if he'll even be sticking around much longer.”
Price concluded, “My brother was a smart man, and there's no way that he would just freeze to death.'Freezing to death is not a cause of death that I would accept,”
What did Jordan Willis' attorney report?
Jordan Wills' attorney, Picerno, initially stated that he last saw the men leave the house when he went to bed. However, the lawyer now contends that he never witnessed their departure and instead left them with an unidentified fifth man.
Despite two of the deceased men parking their cars on the street, Wills claimed he didn't notice the vehicles because he asserts he didn't leave the house on January 8.
Wills further claims that none of the family members of the three men contacted him before the police showed up at his house, but the families of the deceased dispute this.
The attorney mentioned that two people visited Willis' home, but he didn't hear them due to sleeping with headphones and a loud fan.
He did acknowledge that one of the deceased's wives contacted him on Facebook Messenger, but Willis didn't see the message until after the police made contact.
Picerno emphasized, “Jordan had absolutely nothing to do with their deaths. He does not know the timing or manner of their deaths, nor does he know how or when they exited his house.”
Reportedly, the Kansas City Police Department stated that there have been no arrests or charges, and no one is in custody. Additionally, there are no specific threats or concerns for the surrounding community at this time.
