The post surfaced following fans circulating screenshots where she referred to Allen, 28, as a "brain dead CTE athlete" on Instagram, which came shortly after the announcement of his engagement to Steinfeld on Friday, Page Six reports.
Williams' reported comment came as a retort to someone mocking her personal love life, stating, “Haven’t found the next pro athlete yet????”
She then reportedly retaliated, “Luckily my boyfriend owns a team and doesn’t play for one. 🙏🏻 don’t have to be with another brain dead CTE athlete."
CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy, is a neurological disorder characterized by the death of brain cells, according to the Cleveland Clinic. It is thought to result from repeated head injuries, although research is ongoing.
