LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brittany Williams, Josh Allen's ex-girlfriend has made a statement following a controversial comment regarding the Buffalo Bills quarterback that appeared on her Instagram account.

The post that referred to Allen as a "brain dead CTE athlete" rapidly gained attention online after the announcement of his engagement to actress Hailee Steinfeld on Friday, November 29.

“My accounts have been hacked several times tonight,” Brittany Williams made allegations on her Instagram Story last Friday. “Trying to get it resolved. If anyone has any tips please Imk 🙏🏻🥹.”

The post surfaced following fans circulating screenshots where she referred to Allen, 28, as a "brain dead CTE athlete" on Instagram, which came shortly after the announcement of his engagement to Steinfeld on Friday, Page Six reports.

Williams' reported comment came as a retort to someone mocking her personal love life, stating, “Haven’t found the next pro athlete yet????”

She then reportedly retaliated, “Luckily my boyfriend owns a team and doesn’t play for one. 🙏🏻 don’t have to be with another brain dead CTE athlete."

CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy, is a neurological disorder characterized by the death of brain cells, according to the Cleveland Clinic. It is thought to result from repeated head injuries, although research is ongoing.

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) has been identified in the brains of US football players and athletes from other high-impact sports like boxing. 

Allen and Williams, who were childhood friends, had a relationship that lasted ten years before ending in early 2023.

Internet skeptical after Brittany Williams claims her account was hacked

As Brittany Williams announced her account was hacked, the internet began mocking her, saying "hacked" in quotes.

A user said, "She was definitely NOT hacked."



 

Another added, "She wasn't hacked. She had a verified account that requires ID upload and 2 step verification. Cmon now, own to up it."



 

A third commentator remarked, "Account was hacked" is the excuse that no one believes at all."



 

"Couldn’t hide her jealousy a little better?" One mocked.



 

A person said, "Laughing at someone’s brain injury is supposed to be a flex? Ouch, she’s gross!"



 

Another added, "Oh yeah sure you were hacked lol she exposed her true feelings."
