Joy Behar clashes with Sunny Hostin over Rogan’s Trump attacks: ‘Enemy of my enemy is my friend’
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: heated debate unfolded on 'The View' this week after co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar disagreed over whether Joe Rogan should be credited for publicly criticizing ICE and President Donald Trump, despite having voted for Trump in 2024. The discussion followed Rogan’s recent remarks condemning ICE tactics and the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent.
The on-air clash highlighted a broader question about accountability and influence, especially for public figures with massive followings like Rogan.

Sunny Hostin condemns Joe Rogan and says he doesn’t deserve credit
Hostin argued that Rogan’s past political choices and massive influence undermine his credibility.
“I think Joe Rogan got the country that he voted for,” Hostin said, referencing his support for Trump. She stressed the responsibility that comes with having a platform of 20 million followers.
“He not only has 20 million followers, he’s extremely influential,” Hostin added. “With that comes a lot of responsibility, and I think he misused his platform.”
Hostin also cited Rogan’s history of amplifying conspiracy theories, including claims about undocumented immigrants affecting congressional representation. “I don’t know that I’ve seen a changed person,” she said.
Joy Behar argues strategic value in Rogan’s criticism of Trump
Behar took a more pragmatic approach, suggesting that Rogan’s public break with Trump could still carry political weight.
“Yeah, but let’s not look at the past too much, let’s just give him a little bit of credit,” Behar said, noting that shifts like this could weaken Trump’s support base.
“They’re coming over slowly but surely. The enemy of my enemy is a friend in a certain way,” she added, highlighting the significance of his rhetoric given his audience reach.
Sara Haines backs Joy Behar on Joe Rogan’s influence
Sara Haines supported Behar’s stance, pointing out that Rogan’s criticism resonates uniquely with pro-Trump audiences. She suggested that figures like him voicing objections directly to their communities has tangible impact.
When Hostin pressed on Rogan’s responsibility for the political climate, Haines quipped, “I will take Joy’s win.” Behar encouraged the remark: “You should. Take the win.”

“You don't want militarized people in the streets snatching up people…U.S. citizens (without) papers on them. Are we really gonna be the Gestapo? 'Where's your papers?’ Is that what we've come to?”

Joe Rogan breaks with Trump over ICE enforcement and shooting in Minneapolis
On 'The Joe Rogan Experience,' Rogan addressed the shooting and ICE’s broader presence on city streets while speaking with Sen. Rand Paul.
“You don’t want militarized people in the streets just roaming around, snatching up people, many of which turn out to be US citizens that just don’t have their papers on them,” Rogan said. “Are we really gonna be the Gestapo? ‘Where’s your papers?’ Is that what we’ve come to?”
He also criticized ICE agents for hiding their identities and described the shooting of Good as “horrific,” noting video footage suggesting she was trying to leave before being shot.
