WASHINGTON, DC: Former MSNBC anchor Joy Reid took a jab at Vice President JD Vance and said that she would still hate him even if he rescued her cat from a burning building.

She made the statement during the latest segment of the 'Joy Reid Show', where she was accompanied by former CNN host Don Lemon.

Joy Reid says she can't 'stand' JD Vance

During the show, Joy Reid said, "I can't stand JD Vance. Let us be clear, there is nothing he can do."

"He could literally rescue my cat from a burning building, and I would still hate JD Vance", she added, as Don Lemon was seen laughing.

Interestingly, this isn't the first time the former MSNBC anchor has taken a jab at the Vice President.

Last week, VP Vance aimed at Reid and urged her to be more thankful for the opportunities she has had in America.

He said this after an old clip of Reid resurfaced online, where she spoke about her mother’s disappointment with the United States after moving from Guyana.

Vance used the moment to share what he called non-trolling advice and even asked her to be a happy person in life.

He replied to a video of Joy Reid posted by a conservative X (formerly Twitter) account called End Wokeness on October 2. The video was from a talk she gave in March at Xavier University in New Orleans with writer Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Vance wrote on X, "Joy Reid has had such a good life in this country. It’s been overwhelmingly kind and gracious to her. She is far wealthier than most. Yet she oozes with contempt."

"My honest, non-trolling advice to Joy Reid is that you’d be a much happier person if you showed a little gratitude," he added.

Meanwhile, Joy Reid took to her Substack to respond to JD Vance’s tweet and wrote, "I have to admit, I am surprised that the vice president of the United States has so much time on his hands that he’s scrolling old interviews of mine. Tweet less and govern more, James David; you are wasting our time and tax money."

Internet trolls Joy Reid for her comment

Several internet users trolled Joy Reid for saying she would still hate the VP even if he rescued her cat from a burning building.

A user wrote on X, "I'd kinda be hoping JD would save the cat and leave Joy in the building," while one added, "If either one of them saved my kitties from a burning building, I’d thank them. We ARE different."

A person also stated, "These people aren’t political anymore, they’re theological," whereas one mentioned, "It’s so weird, weird I tell you, that BOTH of them were fired."

Another user also wrote, "Suit me fine if he stepped OVER you to get the cat out safely," while one commented, "The two stars of the new Dumb and Dumber movie coming out. I can't decide which is which."

A person also added, "JD Vance wouldn’t have to save her cat from a burning building if the cat didn’t want to be roasted alive more than in the arms of 'Joy'."
