The 'Eat, Pray, Love' star's discreet approach to her love life may be the key to their thriving 22-year marriage.

Roberts during her appearance on ‘The Today Show’ talked about Danny and praised him. “Well, it all starts with Danny Moder, you know?" she gushed to Hoda Kotb. "He’s just really our anchor and our person. And in the most beautiful way, the captain of our ship, you know, truly,” she began.

“And it’s not, like, giving it all away to him," she added. "It’s just that for me, understanding how deeply felt life could be really started with him."

Julia and Danny met on the set of ‘The Mexican’ in 2000 while starring along with Brad Pitt, and he was working as a cameraman.

Interestingly, Julia was dating Benjamin Bratt, while Danny was married to makeup artist Vera Steimberg, per DailyMail.

On her 'Oprah Winfrey Show' appearance in 2003, Julia Roberts reflected, "I could see how wonderful he was, but we were both in relationships at the time, so we were just friends."

“He sorted his whole thing out, separate and apart from me,” she said. “And I sorted my life out, separate and apart from him. I think that’s the only reason we were able to ultimately fall in love with each other and be together.”

In another interview with E! News, she said, “I always say that same thing and I'm sticking with it. It's making out. Lots of making out.”

The mother-of-three talked about her parenting life, "I parent them the same way out of the house that I parented them in the house,” she said.

"Are you getting enough sleep? And you sound like you’re sick. And are you drinking tea? And text me when you get home."
