Julie Chrisley addresses speculation that she faked breast cancer diagnosis

Julie Chrisley shared that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2012.

“The one thing that I wanna talk about that was in the tabloids is they said that I faked my breast cancer, and that is the craziest thing,” Julie said on the latest episode of the podcast.

Her husband, Todd Chrisley, 56, recalled that she received her diagnosis when she was 39.

The couple, who served prison sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion before receiving a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, noted that her cancer diagnosis happened years before their legal troubles.

“I had already been diagnosed with breast cancer,” Julie noted. “I was completing my treatment at that time. But the thing is that someone would think that I would ever fake a breast cancer diagnosis. I have had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing, wonderful women who have fought the breast cancer fight.”

Julie Chrisley says accusations ‘didn’t even make sense’

Julie Chrisley, who underwent a double mastectomy and radical hysterectomy before going into remission, did not hold back when addressing the rumors. “It is so disrespectful,” she said.

“Obviously, if that's something I was gonna do, it didn't help because I went to prison. But I went to prison 11 years later,” she added.

Julie explained that it “didn't even make sense” to claim she faked her cancer diagnosis, as she was still convicted and sentenced to a reduced seven-year prison term in Lexington, Kentucky.

After their conviction in 2022, Todd was originally sentenced to 12 years for federal fraud charges.

Both Todd and Julie served more than two years for tax evasion, fraud, and conspiracy before receiving a full presidential pardon from Trump in May.

Savannah Chrisley said 'special place in hell' for those who claim her mother faked breast cancer diagnosis

The couple's daughter, Savannah Chrisley, 27, also spoke out against the accusations on her 'Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley' podcast. She recalled seeing comments online claiming Julie faked her diagnosis to avoid legal proceedings.

“I was getting my coffee across the street this morning and I was looking through social media and I saw to where someone commented that my family was this fraud and we're terrible human beings, XYZ, and how my mother faked her breast cancer diagnosis,” Savannah said during the June 17 episode.

“Apparently, she faked her breast cancer diagnosis to avoid court proceedings, was what this individual said," Savannah revealed and quickly dismissed the claims.

“They weren't federally or criminally charged until 2019,” she explained. “So, that right there completely debunks your whole theory.”

“For someone to make an accusation that my mother lied about having breast cancer at the age of 39, there truly is a special place in hell for you. It's that simple... I hope you feel good about yourself,” Savannah added.
