NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A never-before-seen extended version of the infamous hotel surveillance video showing Sean “Diddy” Combs’ 2016 assault on then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura was played in court during the rapper's federal trial.
The longer footage was played in court for jurors and revealed not just the vicious attack, but also what went down after the violence, including a security guard stepping in to try and calm the hip-hop mogul, TMZ reported.
The full video from the InterContinental Hotel in Century City shows Diddy dragging Ventura down a hallway, throwing what appears to be a flower vase at her, and then pacing around angrily while wearing nothing but a towel and socks.
Just moments before Diddy hurled the object at her, a hotel security guard, later identified as then–assistant security director Israel Florez, emerged from an elevator. Florez quickly stepped in to de-escalate the situation, walking alongside Diddy down the hallway while Ventura remained near the elevator area.
Jurors witness Diddy’s violent assault on ex Cassie Ventura

The new, unedited footage gives the clearest picture yet of the violence and mayhem that unfolded that day. It was shown to jurors during the second day of the trial on Tuesday, May 13, in court.
First, Ventura, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, is seen entering the hallway. Diddy follows her, wrapped in a towel. Moments later, he reappears holding a bag in one hand and dragging her by her hood with the other.
We then see Diddy snatch her cell phone, sit in a chair, and angrily throw an object that knocks over a vase. Ventura reaches for the hotel house phone, trying to get help.
Florez, now a Los Angeles Police Department officer, is then seen walking out of the elevator in a gray suit, holding a walkie-talkie. He spots the broken vase and starts speaking with both Diddy and Ventura, trying to defuse the situation.

The surveillance shows Diddy retreating into his room as Florez lingers in the hallway.
Ventura eventually follows, and shortly after, a custodian with a cart enters the hallway and trails behind them. A little later, she emerges with her bags and heads back to the elevator. Florez follows shortly after.
Then Diddy reappears, still in his towel and socks, walking toward the elevator as he makes a call on his cell. Two custodians emerge from his room, one carrying a trash bag. The original custodian inspects the shattered vase and radios in the damage.
Security guard stands his ground
According to Florez, Diddy told him the blow-up began after a heated argument with Ventura. Florez submitted an email incident report to the court that included graphic photos showing the aftermath inside Diddy’s trashed hotel room.
He also revealed in court that Diddy allegedly tried to bribe him with $100, saying, “I got you, let’s go to my room.” But Florez wasn’t having it. He reportedly told Diddy he knew who he was and asked him out of "respect for the guest and myself, so do me the favor and let’s return you to your room.”
New video shows Florez doing exactly that, escorting the towel-clad producer down the hallway as Ventura reappears in the frame, walking in the same direction. But things heated up again when Diddy spotted her.
According to Florez, the rapper “raised his voice” at her, prompting the officer to warn him that if he didn’t calm down and get back in the room, he’d be “escorted out” of the hotel.

Florez said that Diddy then pulled out a wad of cash to pay him off. Again, Florez “declined the money and told Mr Combs that all we needed was for him to stay in his room until checkout, which is today.”
Determined to make him stay put, Florez physically blocked the doorway, standing there for several minutes until Ventura was able to exit the room. But Diddy wasn’t done.
“I started to leave, and [Combs] called for me. He had a sack of money, and he threw it at me and said, ‘Don’t tell anyone,’” Florez testified.
Cassie Ventura’s heartbreaking testimony
Florez wasn’t the only one taking the stand. On Tuesday, jurors were shown the infamous 2016 video once again—this time with commentary from Cassie herself, who reportedly spoke in a barely audible whisper while narrating the terrifying events, the New York Post reported.
Prosecutor Emily Johnson asked her, “How many times had Sean thrown you to the ground like that before?”
Cassie replied, “Too many to count.”

The court also watched as Diddy’s attorney Brian Steel tried to poke holes in Florez’s testimony. Steel grilled him about the stack of cash that the rapper allegedly offered. “You used the word that it was a bribe,” Steel asked.
Florez didn’t flinch. “100%,” he said.
