The images immediately grasped the hearts of 'Lumax' shippers, who wished for nothing but a happy ending for the on-screen couple in the concluding season.

Fan theories have already cemented themselves on the social media platform. However, Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington on the series recently appeared on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon' and slightly teased the fate of his character on the series confirming that more physical challenges are going to come Harrington's way.

According to the Daily Mail, Ross Duffer, one of the Duffer brothers behind 'Stranger Things', recently shared some sneak peeks of Sink's character, Max Mayfield, and McLaughlin's character, Lucas Sinclair, on social media, causing a stir among fans.

As season four of the show wraps up, Max's future in the series remains uncertain. Sink's impressive acting in the season showcased why she became an instant fan favorite among fans since she joined the cast in season two.

In the show, Max and Lucas had a brief romantic relationship, and in the season four finale, there were hints that they still have feelings for each other, as reported by the Daily Mail.

One of the most intense moments in season four was when Max briefly passed away during the finale but was revived and left in a coma, with a heartbroken Lucas by her side in the hospital's last scene.

Duffer's Instagram posts included a photo of Sink awake in a hospital bed beside a smiling McLaughlin, hinting at a possible rekindling of their characters' romance. Additionally, he shared a picture of the two actors holding hands.

Duffer also posted a photo of a Kate Bush cassette tape. Bush's song, 'Running Up That Hill,' was Max's anthem and was featured in Sink's highly praised scene in the episode 'Dear Billy,' where she confronts Vecna, the show's ultimate antagonist, played by Jamie Campbell Bower.
