LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Oprah Winfrey continues to inspire people of all generations with her work. The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) founder now wants her fans to be ‘liberated’ while she does a new TV special on weight loss.

Winfrey opened up about her new venture during the 55th Annual NAACP Image Awards on Saturday, March 16.

"I am so excited about this show that I am doing... on shame and blame and the weight loss revolution," Winfrey told ET

"I am so excited about it because, as you know, I've spent years in this business and been shamed myself,” she continued.

The 70-year-old pointed out what needs to be addressed while trying to shed kilos.

“And I just want people to be liberated, and know that, for so many people in this country who are suffering from weight and obesity, it's really not your fault -- it's your brain."

"So once you figure that out, you can begin to get help to help you manage it, however you choose to do that," Winfrey further said. "So I want people to stop being blamed for the choices that they make about their health."

Winfrey told the outlet, "We had to break it down. They've had these medications for the past 20 years. I didn't know that. They've been having this medication for 20 years and we're just now hearing about it.”

Winfrey surprised many in showbiz after appearing in a transformed look at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Gala in a form-fitting sequined gown that showed off her noticeably slimmer physique.

The celebrated host finally admitted in a People's story that she is taking weight-loss medication, noting that her opinion on the use of drugs has changed over the summer after she filmed a panel discussion with weight-loss experts.
