Justin Baldoni was reportedly unaware that his 'It Ends With Us' co-star, Blake Lively, had involved her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in the film’s script.

While Lively enthusiastically revealed that Reynolds had written the "iconic rooftop scene" at the start of the movie, a source claims that Baldoni, 40, was completely surprised by this information.

According to Variety, Baldoni believed "the scene had been ad-libbed by Lively." The publication noted, "WGA did not respond to a request for comment about whether Reynolds’ work constitutes a guild violation that could affect credits."

The insider also claimed, "Movies can have uncredited writers, but rarely would the director be unaware." A source also mentioned, "There's probably no world where these two (Lively and Baldoni) will work together again.

Christy Hall, a screenwriter for 'It Ends With Us,' previously revealed that she was unaware of Reynolds' script revisions, as per DailyMail.

She explained, "There were a couple of little things that I thought had been improvised. Like when he says, 'Pretty please with a cherry on top,' and she talks about the maraschino cherries. When I saw a cut I was like, 'Oh, that’s cute. That must have been a cute improvised thing.' So if I’m being told that Ryan wrote that, then great, how wonderful."

Hall acknowledged that the rooftop scene was challenging and the "trickiest one to tackle" due to its perfection in Colleen Hoover's novel. She explained, "My first attempt at that scene, I really tried to just honor what Colleen wrote, almost word for word."

Blake Lively had previously shared that Reynolds helped write the rooftop scene during the film’s New York City premiere, describing their collaborative process as mutual support for each other’s work. The film is based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling 2016 novel.

Lively has faced criticism recently over her film promotion tactics and rumored conflicts with Baldoni. Additionally, she has come under scrutiny for past controversial comments and behavior, including the use of a transgender slur in old interviews.

Reactions erupt online after Justin Baldoni's unawareness of Ryan Reynolds' role

After discovering that Justin Baldoni was unaware of Ryan Reynolds' hidden role in the 'It Ends With Us' rooftop scene, many took to the internet to share their reactions.

One said, "Well then that settles it, It's all Ryan's Fault! I knew it!!!"

The second wrote, "Unfortunately Blake Lively failed in the art of communication. Which is a shame given what the message of It Ends With Us is all about. Her promotion including her products with fellow cast members and author with not one cast member taking the domestic violence in this film seriously lets women down. "

One person stated, "Sums her up ‘We help each other. He works on everything I do; I work on everything he does. So his wins, his celebrations are mine and mine are his.' Err no Blake stop riding on Ryan’s coat tails." [sic]

The last shared, "Some people just don’t know when not to cross a professional line."
