LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A heartfelt apology from Justin Baldoni to his wife, Emily, during their 2013 wedding has gained attention amid ongoing legal drama involving Blake Lively.
In an emotional video from their Corona, California wedding, 40-year-old 'Jane the Virgin' actor and director Baldoni begins his vows with a heartfelt apology.
Justin Baldoni's apology to wife Emily
Standing before his bride at the altar, Justin Baldoni openly acknowledged his past mistakes, insecurities, and shortcomings.
“I want to start off my vows to you with an apology,” Baldoni says in the footage shared on YouTube. “I’m sorry for all my faults, my shortcomings, for my insecurities and my ego and for everything that I’ve ever done or said that’s hurt you. And everything I’ve ever brought to this relationship that hasn’t been pure.”
The apology was followed by a promise to Emily, as Baldoni vowed to be a better partner. “But with that apology also comes a promise. Emily, for the rest of my life, I will cherish you, I will appreciate you, I will listen to you, I will laugh with you, i will take care of you, I will honor you and I will respect you,” he added.
Emily, for her part, stated that she would "stand strong" by Justin's side because she was “grateful to have a man who will go above and beyond to comfort a friend or to simply make somebody feel loved.”
“I will stand firm by your side, deeply appreciative to have a man who inspires me and the people around him to live life more fully,” she added.
After exchanging vows, Justin remarked, "Let's jump in together forever," before they sealed the moment with a high five, as per Page Six.
Justin Baldoni's 2013 wedding apology gains new attention amid Blake Lively's lawsuit
While it is unclear what "faults" and "shortcomings" the 'Jane the Virgin' actor was alluding to, the apology has garnered significant attention again in light of Blake Lively's lawsuit against Baldoni.
Lively, 37, filed a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of making inappropriate comments and leading a smear campaign against her during the filming of their 2024 movie 'It Ends With Us.'
The lawsuit claims Lively had to participate in an “all-hands” meeting, which included the presence of her husband, Ryan Reynolds, to address Baldoni’s alleged misconduct.
Baldoni’s legal team has vehemently denied the allegations.
