Before the Super Bowl LVIII, there were reports that Usher had invited Justin Bieber to join him for the Halftime show. His arrival in Las Vegas a day before the game fueled fans' expectations of a surprise performance.

However, Bieber, along with Hailey, Kendall Jenner, Ciara, Russell Wilson, and others, watched the game from a private suite and did not join Usher's 15-minute halftime performance.

Usher, instead, was accompanied by Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, H.E.R, Will.I.Am, and Ludacris as he performed his greatest hits.

A decade long bond between Usher and Bieber

Usher, who mentored Bieber after his discovery on YouTube at 14, reportedly co-founded RBMG Records with his manager Scooter Braun, signing Bieber as their first artist.

They collaborated on the track 'Somebody to Love' in 2010. Usher has maintained a close relationship with Bieber over the years, even supporting him during his Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis, pee New York Post.

"He's like a child to me, so I don’t necessarily feel like it’s business, you know what I’m saying? I feel like I’m talking to someone who has had hardships," Usher said to Howard Stern.

"If your child ever has difficulties, every person who’s listening to this s**t right now understands that nobody’s perfect."

"You’re gonna have moments. And if he does, I can only show him the reality of what has happened … of course we’ve had stern talks."

Fans of Justin Bieber express their disappointment

Regrettably, Bieber fans worldwide were left disappointed as he did not appear on the field. The upset was so profound that many took to social media to express their dismay.

A Bieber fan tweeted, "Count your days usher, justin bieber, hailey bieber, whoever is responsible for justin not performing. you deprived us of this."

Another fan said, "Nahh when Justin has his own halftime shows he gotta bring usher."

"I'm sure if Justin does the next Superbowl, he'll do this song and invite Usher," a fan noted.

A disappointed fan said, "HONESTLY because i was waiting in the other room until the halftime performance came on JUST to see justin and usher..."

"I’m crying. He really should have preformed," added another.
