WASHINGTON, DC: In a dramatic rally speech, Kamala Harris made a powerful call to action, portraying former president Donald Trump as a figure unfit for leadership, likening him to a “petty tyrant” reminiscent of King George III.

Speaking to a record-breaking crowd at the Ellipse on Tuesday, October 29, Harris invoked the imagery of 1776 and warned Americans of a dark future if Trump reclaims the White House, as per The Daily Beast.

Drawing historical parallels and calling Trump “unstable, obsessed with revenge,” she emphasized her opponent’s fixation on control while passionately urging Americans to protect their democracy at the ballot box.

In her impassioned address, Kamala Harris condemned Donald Trump’s “obsession with revenge” and “unchecked power", calling him a danger to the country’s founding ideals.

“Nearly 250 years ago, America was born when we wrested freedom from a petty tyrant,” Harris proclaimed, referring to the struggles against Britain’s King George III.

By using the term “petty tyrant,” Harris highlighted her view that Trump, like King George III, is not only irrational but governed by personal grievances and desire for control.

Speaking on the Ellipse—a location where Trump rallied supporters before the January 6 Capitol riot—Harris noted the symbolism in addressing the crowd from the same site.

She drew a striking contrast between her vision of unity and Trump’s divisive rhetoric. Recalling the fateful events of January 6, she spoke directly to Trump’s reaction to reports that rioters wanted to harm then-Vice President Mike Pence.

Trump reportedly responded, “So what?” exhibiting, in Harris’ words, his “reckless indifference to human life".

The violent incident resulted in deaths and injuries, which Harris called “a tragic outcome of his words".

She then argued that Trump has “continued to fuel that same divisiveness", even suggesting he would pardon the January 6 perpetrators if reelected.

Harris’ sharp rhetoric was met with cheers and chants from the crowd, estimated at over 75,000, according to Harris campaign officials—a record turnout for her events this year.

Kamala Harris outlines policies aimed at uplifting middle-class Americans

Kamala Harris’ speech served as both a condemnation of Donald Trump and a reaffirmation of her platform.

She outlined policies aimed at uplifting middle-class Americans, promising tax cuts for families and entrepreneurs, affordable housing, and expanded healthcare access.

“This is a campaign to lift every American, to build a country where opportunity is within reach for all,” Harris declared, reiterating her commitment to economic reforms that directly address everyday struggles.

One of the hallmark promises in her campaign has been the protection and expansion of abortion rights, which she emphasized as “a fundamental issue” of her platform.

She vowed to make abortion legal nationally and criticized what she called “Trump abortion bans” in various states, pledging to defend reproductive rights at every level.

Her rallying cry to end Trump-era restrictions and safeguard women’s rights struck a strong chord with the crowd, who cheered at her call to action.

While her proposals were met with enthusiasm, recent polling suggests a tightening race. Harris’ early momentum, which saw her in the lead following President Biden’s decision to step aside, has waned in recent weeks.

The contest between Harris and Trump now appears locked in a dead heat, heightening the stakes as Election Day approaches.
