Kamala Harris dares Donald Trump for debate, says 'If you've got something to say, say it to my face'

Harris' comments came in light of Trump not clarifying his stance on whether he would face her on September 10

ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Vice President and presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris challenged Donald Trump to face her on the debate stage, while speaking at a campaign rally in Atlanta on Tuesday, July 30.

Her comments in light of the former President and GOP nominee not clarifying his stance on whether he would face her on September 10, a date that was previously agreed upon by him and incumbent Joe Biden, before the latter stepped down from the race and endorsed Harris.

Donald Trump's stance on debating Kamala Harris

In an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham that aired on Monday, when asked about debating Harris, Trump stated, "So, I like debating. I like debating, I’ve done a lot of debates. I've won the debates... I want to do a debate, but I also can say this: Everybody knows who I am, and now people know who she is- she is a radical left lunatic. She will destroy the country."

"Then why not debate her?” interjected Ingraham, leading Trump to respond, "Well, wait. But, because they already know everything.”

“They’re going to say you’re afraid of debating her,” pointed out the host.

"They said that with Biden, too," was Trump's comeback. The disastrous performance of the incumbent in a presidential debate against Trump in June led to growing calls for him to suspend his reelection campaign from across the aisle, which Biden heeded this month.

“I’m leading in the polls,” claimed Trump, continuing, "The answer’s yes, I’ll probably end up debating. I think actually the debate should take place before the votes start getting cast.”

"So the answer’s yes. But I can also make a case for not doing it," he later added.



 

Kamala Harris' message for Donald Trump

"The momentum in this race is shifting," Harris stated in her rally on Tuesday. "And there are signs that Donald Trump is feeling it. You may have noticed."

"So last week, you may have seen, he pulled out of the debate in September he had previously agreed to."

As the crowd erupted in "boos," she continued, "So, here's the thing. Here's the funny thing about that- so he won't debate, but he and his running mate (JD Vance) sure seem to have a lot to say about me. And by the way, don't you find some of that stuff to just be plain weird?"

"Well Donald," she called out her rival. "I do hope you'll reconsider to meet me on the debate stage because as the saying goes, 'if you've got something to say, say it to my face.'"
