WASHINGTON, DC: Kamala Harris has taken herself out from being at the top of the Democratic ticket after losing the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump, an anonymous party donor said.

The former vice president has continued to remain mostly out of the public eye after running for the Oval Office in 2024 following Joe Biden's withdrawal from the race.

The anonymous Democratic Party donor said, “I think she's done at the top of the ticket. I think the country will not have moved in a progressive direction during that time, it will have become more conservative," as per ABC News.

Democratic Party allies support Kamala Harris

But another donor, Areva Martin, believes otherwise as she claims, “She's proven she has staying power. When people think she can't recover she's proven her ability to do so.”

Lawyer and Democratic donor Judith Barnett also showed her support for Harris.

She told the publication, “My opinion and my dedication to her hasn't changed one iota. I believe she's one of the most talented, brilliant, kind, empathic people that I have met in all my time in politics.”

Regarding the 60-year-old’s decision to run for California governor, she added, “I would think running for governor, running the 5th largest economy in the world, would be a good move. It's not my decision … it's all hers. But I think it's a wonderful step.”

Kamala Harris compared to Ronald Reagan

Asif Mahmood, who led Asian outreach for Kamala Harris' 2019 campaign, cited the success of former President Ronald Reagan while speaking about the former vice president.

He shared, “Reagan ran for president. He lost, came back to California, served his state as governor, went back and ran for president, and won twice.”

But Democratic fundraiser Michael Kempner decided not to say anything at this point.

He stated, “I don't know if I would get involved at this point even if God were running. ... I think it's going to be tough for any Democrat to raise any money. There is little enthusiasm.”

"The person you just spent $2 billion on trying to elect? I’m glad she’s having a good time going to a musical and being repped by CAA. But this whole strategy of 'Do not do anything, or say anything,' that’s not the kind of leadership the world needs right now," they added.
