MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Vice President Kamala Harris cautioned comedian Jimmy Kimmel about the possibility of retaliation from former President Donald Trump if he wins a second term.

Trump's feud with late-night hosts, especially Jimmy Kimmel, has been ongoing. As recently as April, he lashed out at Kimmel on Truth Social, calling him “stupid” and criticizing his performance as the host of the 96th Academy Awards.

This outburst came after the late-night talk show host mocked Trump’s “hush money” trial, according to Forbes.

Harris says Trump will 'go after his political opponents' including Kimmel

Jimmy Kimmel has been a vocal critic of Trump for years, resulting in a long-standing feud between them.

"Trump has made it pretty plain that he’s planning to go after his enemies or whatever you want to call them should he be re-elected," Kimmel remarked on his late-night show.

"Realistically," Kimmel queried Harris, "what can he actually do to, oh, like, for example, me?"

"In all seriousness, Jimmy, you’re right to bring this up," Harris said. "[Trump] has been very clear about his intentions. He plans to use the Department of Justice to go after his political opponents."

"He admires dictators and has even said he’ll act like one from day one," she added.

Harris also took aim at Trump's stance on abortion, pointing out that her daughter now has "fewer reproductive rights than my mother-in-law did."

Kimmel chimed in, challenging Trump's claims that the justice system is being weaponized against him following his conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in New York.

"If President Biden has weaponized the justice system, why isn't he getting his son out of trouble?" Kimmel asked. "Hunter Biden is currently on trial."

"Couldn't he just snap his weaponized fingers and get him right out of that?" he added. "The former president is a hypocrite," Harris responded.

Trump and Kimmel met in 2015 on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

According to The Hill, in 2015, before securing the GOP presidential nomination for the 2016 election, Trump appeared on ABC’s 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

During his appearance, Trump emphasized the need for unity within the Republican Party while also taking shots at former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who was also running for president at the time.

Kimmel introduced a satirical children's book that lampooned Trump’s campaign rhetoric, humorously attributing the mock book, titled 'Winners Aren’t Losers,' to Trump as the author.

“Winners aren’t losers, they’re winners — like me!” Kimmel read aloud from the book. “A loser’s a loser, which one will you be?”

Netizens slam Harris and Kimmel for their 'fear-mongering' tactics

Viewers expressed strong disapproval of Harris's fear-mongering tactics during her discussion with Jimmy Kimmel about his concerns over potential actions Trump might take against late-night hosts.

One viewer shared, "All they do is spread fear. That's how you know they're tyrants."

In a similar vein, another observer chimed in, "Trump wouldn’t bother. Kimmel is not worth it."

Moreover, a viewer highlighted, "More FEAR-MONGERING by our 'Border Czar.'"

Adding to the conversation, a follower contributed, "Fear mongering and spreading false information. That is what the Democrats love to do."

A comment emphasized, "Softball talkshow." [sic]

Echoing this sentiment, another comment noted, "Nothing else going on in the Country that there is time to do late-night talk shows."

Expanding on the topic, an individual elaborated further, saying, "It’s like watching Sponge Bob and Patrick. The only difference is Sponge Bob and Patrick make more sense than these two."
