WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris has gained a four-point lead over former president Donald Trump among registered voters, showed a Marquette Law School poll conducted on Thursday, August 8.

A total of 879 registered voters nationwide were surveyed for the poll which ran from July 24 to August 1. A 4.1% margin of error was advertised. According to the survey, Harris increased her lead among likely voters with Trump falling short by six points in a 53% to 47% comparison. Marquette claims that the figure for likely voters, which was derived from a survey of 683 persons, has a 4.7% margin of error.

The poll comes as momentum for Kamala Harris continues to surge

The poll is released as Kamala Harris' popularity is growing in view of President Joe Biden's historic decision to drop out of the 2024 race last month. A Wednesday poll from NPR, PBS, and Marist found that Harris has a three-point lead over the former president.

The survey indicated that Harris was ahead of Trump 51% to 48%, but it also stated that the difference is within the poll's margin of error. On important topics like the economy, Harris has also reduced Trump's advantage. On important subjects like immigration lawlessness and international policy matters such as Israel's Gaza War, Trump was ahead of Harris in both surveys.

The Marquette poll gives Donald Trump a slight edge over Kamala Harris on economy

Donald Trump is viewed as having a stronger economic plan than Kamala Harris, according to 49% of Americans while only 37% disagree, according to the Marquette study.

The polls were conducted a few days after a Fox News survey revealed a deadlock between Trump and Harris in Pennsylvania, a crucial swing state in the presidential race. The current standing of the race in the Keystone State is comparable to that of April when Trump and Biden were impasse 48% to 48%.

The poll, which was issued on Friday, finds Harris and Trump deadlocked at 49% to 49% in Pennsylvania. These numbers are not different from the state's actual election results in 2020 (49.85% for Biden and 48.69% for Trump).

Internet vouches for Donald Trump as they pay no heed to the latest poll findings

Despite the fact that Kamala Harris is leading Donald Trump by four points in the most recent poll, online voters continued to support the former president. One X user tweeted while taking a jab at Harris, "Wait until she answers hard questions." Another wrote, "Trump 2024 the polls are wrong like 2016."

"A four-point bump in the polls isn't that significant. Ultimately, I believe the American people will realize what the Democrats are doing by increasing the budget by 50% from $23 trillion to $35 trillion. They'll see that Donald Trump is the only viable choice for President," opined one.

"Stripper polls don't count. Very weird to go from the most unlikeable and worst VP in history to we need her as president," remarked someone else.
