For the NFL 100 list, the professional football players vote to name the best athletes among their peers.

Travis Kelce lands ninth spot in NFL Top 100 list

After spending a spectacular summer hopping through the European cities to support his girlfriend Taylor Swift for her Eras Tour, Travis Kelce has rejoined his team at the training camp for the upcoming season.

On Saturday, August 3, the Chiefs’ Instagram page celebrated the latest honor, which was announced just a day prior, writing, "The best tight end in the National Football League," along with a photo of the star player who joined the team in 2013.

Per People, the NFL blurb about Kelce reads, "Kelce reached new heights of popularity in 2023," slightly referencing his podcast of the same name. They continued, "But that kind of recognition among his peers has been a constant in the Top 100."

This is the fourth time the 34-year-old has been named the best tight end in the national league.

The NFL write-up continued, "A sure-handed model of consistency, Kelce was a force to be reckoned with during Kansas City's successful run at back-to-back Super Bowls."

The blurb further went on to elaborate on the footballer's contribution to the Chiefs’ two back-to-back Super Bowl wins, mentioning that he has caught 32 balls for a total of 355 yards and three touchdowns in the past two seasons.

"Kelce, who sits fourth all-time in receiving for TEs, has put together an incredible Hall of Fame career that was once quietly preserved," further mentioned the write-up.

The blurb concluded by writing, "Today, it's anything but for pop culture's latest heartthrob," referencing not only Kelce’s athletic success but also his whirlwind romance with Swift.

Apart from him, two other players from the reigning Super Bowl champion team have made it to the top ten in the NFL’s Top 100 list - quarterback Patrick Mahomes (who ranked fourth) and defensive end Chris Jones (who ranked sixth).

Besides the NFL honors, the Mahomes-Kelce pair are also celebrating becoming the newest members of Madden's 99 Club, which recognizes players with a 99 Overall (OVR) in the popular video game.

The Chiefs' celebratory post read, "The league’s best duo is in the 99 Club once again! 🎮.”

Fans rejoice as Travis Kelce gathers new honors

Needless to say, Travis Kelce's latest honor warmed the hearts of the fans who joined in the celebrations.

One said, "👏👏👏👏 This year just keeps getting better and better for Travis ( and for TS) and we’re here for it ! Congrats," and another remarked, ""Karma is the guy on the chiefs,'" recalling the time Swift tweaked the lyrics of her song 'Karma' to honor Kelce.

A fan quipped, "You could even say he knows how to ball." Someone else chimed in, "Travis Kelce has been the best tight end in the NFL for over a decade. He is a true legend!❤️👏🏈🙌."

One more wrote, "Well deserved! Now let’s get that 3peat! 🔥."  "👏👏👏The best TE in the league 👏👏👏," cheered another follower.

"#1 in the hearts of the swifties ❤️💛," declared a Swiftie.

An individual mentioned, "He is the best TE in the league without a doubt. They envy him because he has had an incredible year in all aspects. Everyone would like to be him."

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift might be ready to take their relationship to the next level

By the looks of it, the three-time Super Bowl-winning athlete has a little more to celebrate as he might be ready to take the next step in his relationship.

Recently, sources close to the couple revealed that Kelce and Swift's engagement is imminent. "The engagement is happening soon," said the tipster.

However, the NFL star's representative recently set the records straight by dismissing the claims.

Back in December, rumors were rife that Kelce asked for Scott Swift’s blessing and that he had been searching for a perfect ring to propose to his lady.

"Scott has been asked for his blessing and has wholeheartedly given it, and Travis has been talking to friends about a ring"  shared a source to Page Six at the time.
