WASHINGTON, DC: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt fired back with an insult when pressed about Donald Trump's latest outlandish statement, that the Unabomber was once a student of his uncle at MIT.

The exchange came after Trump, during his remarks at the Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, July 15, claimed that his uncle, Dr John Trump, a former MIT professor, had taught Theodore Kaczynski.

Kaczynski, known to the world as the “Unabomber,” orchestrated a deadly bombing spree from 1978 to 1995, killing three people and injuring 23.

During Thursday, July 17 press briefing, Andrew Feinberg, White House correspondent for The Independent, questioned Karoline Leavitt about Donald Trump’s “impossible story” linking his uncle to the Unabomber, only to receive an insult, a non-answer, and a deflection.

Feinberg said, “So on Tuesday, the president told a very detailed story about his uncle, noted scientist John Trump and Theodore Kaczynski, the late Unabomber."

He continued, "He said that Dr Trump taught Ted Kaczynski. Ted Kaczynski was not identified as the Unabomber until 1996, 11 years after John Trump died. It would have been impossible for John Trump to have ever discussed the Unabomber with the president. So what was he talking about? And I have one follow-up.”

Leavitt interrupted with a sharp remark: “Andrew, with so many issues going on in the world, I’m a little bit surprised you would ask such a question—although I’m not sometimes, coming from you, I will say. But I’m willing to give you an answer, nevertheless.”

Instead of addressing the core of Feinberg’s question, Leavitt reiterated that the president’s uncle did indeed teach at MIT and was a highly intelligent professor. She added, “The president’s uncle did in fact teach at MIT. He was a very intelligent professor. The president is very proud of his family. In fact, I have a, or rather the president has a letter from his uncle on the MIT letterhead that sits in the Oval Office dining room. Maybe we’ll let you see it sometime."

Internet is outraged over Karoline Leavitt dodging reporter’s question about Donald Trump’s false claims

A video of Karoline Leavitt responding to a reporter’s question about Donald Trump’s false Unabomber theory has gone viral, igniting widespread online discussion.

One user questioned, "How do MAGA feel about having a liar as the leader of their country? What else does he lie to them?"

An X user shared, "Dude why don't you say something back when they start the answer insulting you like that? Anytime they don't want to answer they just insult you and y'all just take it with no complaints."

One individual added, "She never answered the question, it is pertinent to know why he said such a blatant lie. She knows she’s wrong."

One commenter wrote, "Thanks for asking the question. She could not answer it because it would show he is fabricating stories. No one disputed that his uncle taught at MIT."

A person noticed, "She totally blew off that question @AndrewFeinberg!"

A user mocked, "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha again she bypassed the question completely, blames the asker, and then just reiterates that his uncle taught at MIT. No explanation on Kaczynski."

An enraged user added, "How does she wake up every morning knowing she’s going to tell nothing but lies all day?"

Donald Trump’s Theodore Kaczynski claim raises eyebrows over timeline and facts

At a recent event in Pittsburgh, Donald Trump spoke about his uncle, a professor, and made the extraordinary claim that he had a connection to Theodore Kaczynski.

Trump said, “I have to brag just for a second because when I first heard about AI, you know, it’s not my thing, although my uncle was at MIT. One of the great professors, 51 years, whatever, longest-serving professor in the history of MIT."

He continued, “Three degrees in nuclear, chemical, and math. That’s a smart man. Kaczynski was one of his students. Do you know who Kaczynski was? There’s very little difference between a madman and a genius."

Trump added, “But Kaczynski, I said, ‘What kind of a student was he, Uncle John, Dr John Trump?’ He said, ‘What kind of a student?’ And he said, ‘Seriously good.’ He said he’d go around correcting everybody."

However, Trump’s comments contain several major inaccuracies. Kaczynski never attended MIT and therefore was not Dr Trump’s student. While Kaczynski was indeed highly intelligent, graduating high school at 15, studying at Harvard and the University of Michigan, and later teaching mathematics at Michigan and the University of California, Berkeley, he had no known connection to MIT.

Moreover, the timeline doesn’t add up. Dr Trump died in 1985, well before Kaczynski’s identity as the Unabomber became known in 1996 following the release of his manifesto. Trump was also mistaken in claiming his uncle was the longest-serving professor at MIT, a claim he has made previously.
