LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kate Beckinsale is not letting anyone slander Ben Affleck as she dismisses rumors that her ‘Pearl Harbor’ co-star was the mystery “drunk” co-star who had been “rough with her” on set in the past.

A day after sharing her harrowing past experience in Hollywood, the 51-year-old actress has defended Affleck after fans started speculating whether the Oscar winner was the mystery “drunk” co-star who was often late coming to the set.

On Monday, December 30, Beckinsale spoke up about toxic industry practices while lending support to Blake Lively in the wake of her lawsuit against ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star Justin Baldoni. Beckinsale opened up on her own experiences in Hollywood which, she claimed, were often disregarded.

However, as she posted the video along with a caption speaking up against toxic work culture, several fans started speculating whether Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband was the co-star who often made Beckinsale wait for him on set. The actress is now setting the records straight as she has denied the claims of the ‘AIR’ star being that mystery person, noted Daily Mail.

Kate Beckinsale confirms Ben Affleck was not the ‘drunk’ co-actor

Kate Beckinsale stood up for Ben Affleck when one of her fans speculated, “Affleck maybe the drunk?”

However, the ‘Underworld’ star soon penned a long note defending her co-star from ‘Pearl Harbor’, saying it was actually the opposite.

“Ben Affleck protected me on an extremely toxic film set and could not have behaved more respectably,” wrote Beckinsale, praising her co-star.

She continued, “I am not going to go into any more specific detail on who it was or wasn't because frankly the most problematic part has actually not been the actors, it has been that reporting a problem or an abuse has resulted in a greater punishment than one could ever imagine.”

“That's the point — everybody says why didn't you tell someone well on the whole we have,” added the actress, before noting, “We have told our agents or managers and the head of the studio and this has usually also been witnessed by 30 to 100 people.”

Delving deeper about an on-set incident regarding an unnamed actor, Beckinsale said, “In one particular incident when the actor was so rough with me that he destroyed part of my costume and ripped my wig in half not to say covered me in bruises, winded me and scared me half to death.”

She continued, “Everybody was incredibly concerned,” before adding, “Shut the set down for several hours and was really worried and upset.”

She added she was “ostracized” and “punished” when she “complained” about the incident. “As soon as I called, the head of the studio actually urged by my mother to do so because my instinct was not too,” admitted the star.

The ‘Click’ actress noted, “I was punished, ostracized and could not have wished harder I hadn't said anything which is just, not right on the entire reason I made this video in the first place.”

Affleck was, however, not the only star who was speculated to have been the “drunk” co-star. Another fan commented, “Sounds like you're talking about Colin Farrell,” to which Beckinsale replied, “I emphatically am not.”

Kate Beckinsale shared a video on her Instagram on Monday, December 30, (which she later deleted), in which she shared the atrocities that she suffered in Hollywood as an actress. She revealed that not only was she “forced” to do a photo shoot just a day after she miscarried her baby but was also put on a strict diet in another instance.

“I was put on such a strict diet-and-exercise program on one movie that I lost my periods altogether — that's happened twice,” she added, before noting that she has been “gaslit and made to feel like I was a problem, blamed and ostracised” within the industry, according to Daily Mail.

Recounting her experiences, she stressed, “I'm grateful to Blake Lively for highlighting that this is not an archaic problem that no one's facing — this is continuing.”

“And then when it does happen, a machine goes into place to absolutely destroy you. And I'm sure that's the case in other industries as well, and it's just got to stop,” she added.
