Kate Hudson reveals surprising reason she hasn’t married Danny Fujikawa after 10 years together

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kate Hudson isn’t ready to walk down the aisle, nor is she in any hurry to trade her engagement ring for a wedding ring.

The actress, who got engaged to Danny Fujikawa in 2021, doesn’t seem convinced that marriage is something she wants to rush into.

The 'Almost Famous' star recently explained why she isn’t looking forward to wedding planning during a podcast appearance.

While Hudson described what she would want from a wedding, she also opened up about why she hasn’t felt the need to make those plans a reality.

The reason behind Hudson’s hesitation to get married comes down to one major factor: the price tag.

According to the actress, weddings are simply “expensive.” “That’s part of why I don’t want to get married - it’s too expensive,” she shared on the September 8 episode of the 'Sibling Revelry' podcast. “I just want hors d’oeuvres. I wanna do, like, chips and salsa.”

“I still am not married. I’m just engaged, and I keep thinking about the wedding, like what are we gonna do,” Kate explained earlier in the episode.

She added, “And then every time we start thinking about whom we have to invite, Danny’s like, ‘I just want a small wedding.’ I’m like, ‘Our family alone is like 50 people.’”

As Hudson put it, “There’s a million kids. There’s a million uncles and aunts and cousins.”

Hudson shares daughter Rani, 7, with her fiance, Danny Fujikawa, son Bingham, 15, with her ex-fiance, Matt Bellamy, and son Ryder, 22, with her ex-husband, Chris Robinson.

Despite having a large blended family, the 'Skeleton Key' actress has often spoken openly about the importance of family and the strong bond she shares with her children, her brother Oliver Hudson, and her current partner, Fujikawa.

Hudson has also previously praised Fujikawa for being a supportive partner and teammate. “I’ve got the best man,” she told Women’s Health back in 2019. “It’s the first time I feel like I have a real teammate in this. We’re able to pick up where the other one has to leave off.”

“If I have to go to a dinner meeting, he can be home,” she continued.

“His number one priority is family. And when we have our disputes, I feel the thing that allows us to get through them is having the same ultimate goal, and that includes being in each other’s life. It just feels so nice.”
