LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Kate Middleton, 42, made a surprise appearance at the ballet on Thursday, September 26, marking her first public outing since completing her chemotherapy treatment.

The Princess of Wales was diagnosed with an unknown cancer in February, discovered after an abdominal surgery in January. She shared the news with the public in May, calling the diagnosis a "huge shock."

Kate Middleton praises English National Ballet's moving performance

Earlier this month, Kate Middleton confirmed she had finished her course of preventative chemotherapy, acknowledging the challenges she faced over the past nine months.

After attending the English National Ballet's performance of Akram Khan’s Giselle, Middleton expressed her gratitude to the performers and directors in a message on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Congratulations and thank you to @ENBallet and @Sadlers_Wells for the wonderfully powerful, moving, and inspiring performance of Akram Khan’s *Giselle*. Creativity at its best! C”

The "C" at the end of the post indicated that it was written personally by the Princess of Wales.

According to GB News, she enjoyed the performance so much that she felt compelled to publicly share her appreciation. The ballet and the arts are well-known passions of the princess.

Kate Middleton reflects on her cancer journey

In a video message earlier this month, Kate Middleton opened up about her cancer journey, calling the past nine months "incredibly tough" for her and her family.

She also discussed the emotional toll the journey had taken, sharing, “The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.”

Although her chemotherapy has ended, Middleton acknowledged that her recovery is ongoing, saying, “The path to healing and full recovery is long, and I will take each day as it comes. Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus.”

Kensington Palace has not yet confirmed whether the Princess is officially cancer-free.
