LONDON, ENGLAND: Kate Middleton’s friends are commenting on the desperation that led the future queen to be 'so honest' while addressing her health issues and announcing her cancer diagnosis in a moving video message.

The friends of the Princess of Wales shared their grievances as they said that Kate was “almost desperate” when she opened up about her cancer diagnosis since the “whole world has been gossiping about her.”

Meanwhile, some other friends of the 42-year-old royal also propounded the theory that while shutting down the rumor mills was one of the factors, another propelling factor was for her to “be able to carry on” with her life normally, per Daily Mail.

Princess of Wales’ friends talk about reasons

On March 22, Kate Middleton shared the news of her cancer diagnosis in an emotional video message addressed to her fans and well-wishers.

The mother-of-three shared that her medical team found out about her condition following her planned abdominal surgery in January. She has, nevertheless, started undergoing preventive chemotherapy sessions and assured her fans that she is getting better.

Her friends have now displayed their anger at the social media trolls and conspiracy theorists who propagated endless theories about the princess’s health and whereabouts.

The sources shared that Kate made the knowledge of her cancer diagnosis public specifically to protect her young children - Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five. She waited for the last day of school before the Easter break to give the children to spend the holidays in private.

Several factors were functional for the future queen to share her diagnosis. Apart from the protection of her children from ugly gossip, the other was to shut down the trolls.

One of the princess’s close friends told The Sunday Times, “Catherine's message was so honest,” before adding, “Isn't it sad that she has to be so honest and share that because of all the nonsense that has been around?”

They continued, “I feel like the whole world has been gossiping about her and there is so much bull**** out there about her and her family.”

“It was almost desperate that she had to do it,” declared the source.

Kate another friend shared, that while the gossip following the Mother’s Day photo was a motivating factor, “She felt she had to do it because of who she is.”

The insider explained, “It was more that she knows she is a public figure and has a wider leadership responsibility.”

“She also wants to be able to carry on with as active and normal a routine as possible,” shared the confidante.

Prince William is being pillar of support to Kate Middleton

In her heartfelt video, apart from announcing her diagnosis, the Princess of Wales also gave a shoutout to her husband, Prince William. “Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too,” shared Kate before asking her fans to allow them some privacy.

Sources close to the Waleses recently shared with Page Six that the future king is under extreme 'stress' because he has so much on his plate. Apart from his royal duties, he is also taking care of his ailing wife and his father King Charles III - who has also been diagnosed with cancer in February.

The source shared, “William is doing his best, one minute he’s doing the school run and now he is under incredible stress.”
