NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Kate Winslet brought a captivating slice of history to life in her latest role, playing Lee Miller in the movie 'Lee', but shared a memorable moment involving "belly rolls" from the film’s set that underscored her devotion to authenticity.

In the 2023 war drama, Winslet played the extraordinary British Vogue model-turned-photojournalist who found herself on the front lines of World War II.

Kate Winslet, known for her commitment to authenticity, embraced every nuance of Lee Miller's story with remarkable dedication, Toofab noted.

In a revealing chat with Harper's Bazaar UK, Winslet recounted, “There's a bit where Lee's sitting on a bench in a bikini,” adding, a crew member suggested, "You might want to sit up straighter."

Winslet’s retort was as defiant as it was intentional: “So you can't see my belly rolls? Not on your life! It was deliberate, you know?”

She further elaborated, admitting she halted her exercise regimen entirely to achieve a more genuine and softer appearance, staying true to Miller’s real-life persona.

For Kate Winslet, authenticity extends far beyond her film roles - it’s a principle she lives by every day.

The iconic star of 'Titanic' embraces the natural process of aging with a refreshing confidence, unafraid to showcase her true self on and off the screen.

In a candid interview, Winslet spoke about her commitment to representing her genuine self. “I take pride in it,” she shared. “It is my life on my face, and that matters. It wouldn’t occur to me to cover that up.”

At 48, Winslet is resolute in her choice to forgo Botox and cosmetic procedures, a stance that sets her apart in Hollywood’s youth-obsessed culture.

“I think people know better than to say, ‘You might wanna do something about those wrinkles',” she mused. “I’m more comfortable in myself as each year passes. It enables me to let others’ opinions evaporate.”

Kate Winslet criticized British GQ for altering her image for a cover

This isn't the first time Kate Winslet has addressed body image issues.

In 2003, she publicly criticized British GQ for digitally altering her appearance on a magazine cover, a move that the magazine later admitted to.

As reported by Deadline, "I do not look like that and more importantly I don’t desire to look like that," she said back then.

She also added, "I actually have a Polaroid that the photographer gave me on the day of the shoot … I can tell you they’ve reduced the size of my legs by about a third. For my money it looks pretty good the way it was taken."

In a groundbreaking move back in 2015, Winslet made headlines by insisting that her contract with L’Oreal included a crucial stipulation: her appearance would never be digitally altered.

She described this decision as a "responsibility to the younger generation of women," underscoring her dedication to realness.

"I would always want to be telling the truth about who I am to that generation because they’ve got to have strong leaders," she explained.

Winslet has also been candid about her personal battles, including a struggle with an eating disorder fueled by relentless public scrutiny of her body size.

"I do feel a huge sense of relief that women are so much more accepting of themselves and refusing to be judged," she told Harper's Bazaar UK. "We waste so much time being down on ourselves and I’m just not doing it ever again."

Today, she expresses gratitude for the shifting tides in body image standards, reflecting a broader change she’s pleased to witness.
