LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Noted journalist Katie Couric recently turned to Instagram to reveal her ongoing battle with an eczema outbreak. Her post, which included the phrase "Calling all sensitive skin sufferers!", has elicited a surge of empathy from her followers.

Her global fan base has swiftly responded with their treatment suggestions, transforming the comments section into a digital platform for exchanging eczema alleviation methods.

Couric has consistently been transparent about her health issues and recently, in October, she gave PEOPLE an insight into her life post her successful battle with breast cancer.

Couric reportedly made her breast cancer diagnosis public in 2022. She underwent a lumpectomy on July 14, 2022, during which doctors excised a tumor that was "2.5 centimeters, roughly the size of an olive," as she disclosed then.

Following her diagnosis, Couric has championed the cause of early detection.

The 66-year-old journalist shared a photo on Instagram revealing her face without any makeup, displaying her eczema prominently on both her eyelids. Couric provided a glimpse into her typical experience during an eczema flare-up.

Eczema is generally characterized by red, itchy skin.

"Calling all sensitive skin sufferers! 🙋‍♀️ I've had eczema ever since I was a little girl, and as I've gotten older, it's started to flare up again," Couric penned.

"I also deal with allergic contact dermatitis — safe to say, I have to be careful about what I put on my face."

The Katie Couric Media founder penned that her "search for treatment led me to @cherylleemdisme. Her products have really helped."

"I asked Lee a lot of questions about what causes eczema and how to calm flare-ups. You can find all of her tips and tricks at the link in my bio. 🙌," she added.

She even quipped, "I can’t believe I let my team post this picture. Good Lord 🥴."

The journalist appended a brief note to her post, comforting her followers that eczema had "cleared" by the time she had her "date with George [Clooney]".

Couric posted a photo on Instagram with Clooney, aged 62, on Wednesday, December 14. "It just flares up a lot and it's so annoying! ❤️," she ended.
