DAVOS, SWITZERLAND: Pop star Katy Perry made a high-profile appearance at the World Economic Forum on Tuesday, stepping out alongside former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Davos, Switzerland, marking one of their most prominent public outings yet.

The sighting comes after Perry and Trudeau confirmed their relationship, while the singer was still on her 'Lifetimes' tour across major European cities, including Budapest, Krakow, Prague, and Munich.

A polished appearance on the global stage

Trudeau was seen wearing a dark blue suit, while Perry opted for a modest tan skirt set paired with a sweater as the pair arrived at the annual gathering of global leaders, executives, and influencers.

Their appearance quickly drew attention as the pictures of the couple holding hands went viral on social media.

The sighting comes months after Perry and Trudeau confirmed their relationship last October.

The romance followed significant personal changes for both. Trudeau stepped away from office in March and finalized his separation from ex-wife Sophie Gregoire in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.

Perry, meanwhile, ended her long engagement to actor Orlando Bloom last year, opening a new chapter in her personal life.

During his speech, Trudeau highlighted the importance of international cooperation, drawing on a personal story to highlight his point.

In an unusually candid moment, he referenced his relationship with Perry, saying he had been struck by how much Canada-US relations have shifted.

Recalling a recent visit to Montreal, he described going on a date with an American woman to a rooftop bar, where he was told that Jack and Coke was no longer being served.

Reports say the connection took Perry by surprise

According to People, Perry 'didn’t expect to fall for somebody so soon' after her breakup, but was drawn to Trudeau’s personality. Insiders described him as 'charming, humorous, and respectful'.

The couple went Instagram-official in December when Perry shared photos of the two in Japan, captioning the post, 'Tokyo times on tour and more,' alongside a heart and flower emojis.

Trudeau later reposted a separate image on X featuring Perry with Japan’s former prime minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko Kishida.
