The tragic incident unfolded on Jackson Lake Road in the northbound lanes, where Pierce met her untimely demise.

According to GSP, Pierce was in the process of crossing the road from her driveway to board the bus when Andre, driving a Ford Fusion, hit her.

Notably, the bus was stationary, displaying red flashing lights, and had its stop sign activated at both the front and rear.

Upon the swift arrival of medical personnel, GSP reported that Pierce received life-saving measures before being airlifted to Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, where she was later pronounced dead.

What did Adalynn's mother say?

In court, Adalynn's mother, Ashley, delivered a surprising message to Andre- she forgives the woman who struck her 8-year-old daughter as per 11Alive.

Ashley Pierce, who witnessed the tragic incident as Adalynn was getting on the bus, believes it was a mistake and says her daughter would have shown grace to the woman responsible.

Ashley extends forgiveness to Andre, emphasizing that during the accident, Andre stayed by her side, called 911, and expressed deep remorse.

Law enforcement has confirmed Andre's cooperation and described the incident as a mistake that could happen to anyone.

Ashley fondly recalls Adalynn's bright spirit, her love for life, and her compassion for others. Adalynn's home now feels emptier during dinner prayers, a tradition where the food remains untouched until Adalynn finishes praying for everyone.

Adalynn's caring nature is evident in her past efforts, such as crafting a donation box for children with cancer. Ashley shares how Adalynn would joyfully report the funds collected, always eager to make a difference.

As Ashley waits with her daughter at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for organ donation, she acknowledges that Adalynn's rare blood type will save the lives of children who have been awaiting miracles for years.

Expressing her daughter's heroism, Ashley views Adalynn not merely as a victim but as an "angel" and "hero".
