Keith Olbermann details his ‘wholesome’ relationship With Olivia Nuzzi
Keith Olbermann, known for his unfiltered commentary on politics and sports, appeared nonchalant about the past relationship, claiming it was “public knowledge," adding he was only prompted to speak after being contacted by the New York Post.
“We didn’t do much to keep it quiet. I just assumed nobody cared,” the ex-MSNBC star wrote, describing the relationship as “Nearly all of it was really nice and (god help me) wholesome.”
The New York Post has advised me it intends to write a story saying that Olivia Nuzzi and I used to date.

The romance, which took place around 2014 while Nuzzi was still attending Fordham University, saw the pair bond over their love for dogs. “In fact, it was she with whom I got my first dog and for that I’ll always be grateful to her,” Olbermann added.
RFK Jr's side of story
This revelation about Olivia Nuzzi’s relationship with Keith Olbermann comes amid a much more contentious chapter in her life, as she faces allegations of an inappropriate and undisclosed relationship with Robert F Kennedy Jr.
According to a mutual friend, the 31-year-old reporter allegedly “bombarded” Kennedy with explicit photos and videos and deceived him into unblocking her numbers, despite claiming their relationship was "never physical."
Kennedy, 70, has hired security expert Gavin de Becker to investigate, with the possibility of both civil and criminal litigation on the horizon. Nevertheless, some close to the former presidential candidate believe Nuzzi “set him up.”
Olivia Nuzzi’s bombshell confession
Journalist Olivia Nuzzi who was placed on leave by New York magazine confessed to the editors that she had “engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign.”
According to the magazine, this violated their “standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures.” The publication noted that "had the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign."
Nuzzi didn’t name the person she had a personal relationship with, but a source told CNN that it was none other than Kennedy. She stated to People that earlier this year, her communications with the unnamed subject had turned personal. Nuzzi stressed that during this time she did not report on or use the individual as a source. "The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to prevent the appearance of a conflict,” she explained.
Keith Olbermann slams Olivia Nuzzi’s actions
Keith Olbermann didn’t mince words about the scandal, tweeting: “I excuse none of her conduct,” while also taking a swipe at Robert F Kennedy Jr, calling him “an utterly irresponsible pile of s**t.”
Nuzzi’s history with Olbermann, though largely under the radar until now, resurfaced as her career trajectory skyrocketed. During their relationship, the reporter had just begun working at 'The Daily Beast' and was fresh off an internship with Anthony Weiner’s ill-fated mayoral campaign, where she famously wrote about being referred to as “Monica” as in Monica Lewinsky by the disgraced politician.
As the public scandal involving Kennedy deepens, Olbermann hinted that more details of his time with Nuzzi will be shared on his podcast, 'Countdown with Keith Olbermann,' in the coming days.
