Kelly Clarkson gives rare update on dating life after ending of her eponymous talk show
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kelly Clarkson has offered an honest insight into her dating life as she navigates life as the mother of two after ending her eponymous talk show that ran for seven years.
The singer, 44, appeared on the ‘Las Culturistas’ podcast when she was asked about her love life and if she’s romantically involved with anyone at this time.
Kelly Clarkson says her only focus is her children now
Clarkson replied, “My kids right now, I think there’s a lot behind that, but I think that would rock their boat a little bit.” The Grammy winner shares River, 12, and Remington, 10, with her late former husband, Brandon Blackstock.
She was married to Blackstock from 2013 to 2020. A few years after their divorce, the talent manager died in 2025 at the age of 48.

But now she is focusing more on calmness. She told hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang, “And honestly, this is not a bulls**t answer. I love my life right now. Like, it just got to where I am not exhausted at every point of it.”
“I feel like if you’re going to be in a relationship, you have to be willing to give some of your time up. And I am unwilling,” Clarkson explained, before she said of her children, “We’re having fun, and we’re cooking, we’re playing games. I’m there at pickup, or I’m there dropping off. I’m there.”
The ‘Because of You’ hitmaker further talked about her new life in New York.
She shared, “I wasn’t really exposed to anything like that. Like, I love where I grew up. Obviously, I turned out alright, but I just meant it’s a cool thing for them to have just every color of the rainbow, every color of personality, everything.”
Kelly Clarkson calls her children 'the greatest kids in the world'
This came after Clarkson paid an emotional tribute to her growing children — Remington and River — during the 1,000th episode of ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ in March last year.
“River and Remy, I love you so much. I’m so proud of you both. They’re just fearless and very bold. They’re more like me as an adult, not what I was like as a child, so they talk a lot too. You are what I’m liking today, my little ones, and every day I love them so much,” she added at the time.
The two children also joined their famous mother for the last episode of her show, where Clarkson stated, “My kiddos have always come first. They’re a big reason I did this show, just the stability, the schedule. And they’re also a big reason it’s time to say goodbye. I’m such a proud momma. They’re the greatest kids in the world.”
