"The level of depression and things that come with divorce or grieving is extraordinarily hard," Clarkson told People.

"You feel alone, and it's just a blessing to be able to have that outlet for those emotions that are overwhelming," she added.

She poured her heart out into songs that reflected her journey of recovery. “I didn’t see it other than: This is my outlet. I’m a let-go person; I don’t hold grudges. So it was really delving into what happened in my life and why—and what am I going to do about it?” she said.

One of the songs that helped her heal was Chemistry, which she said was about “taking my power back."

Why does Kelly Clarkson love therapy and think it’s important?

Clarkson, who sang 'Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)', also shared that music acted as therapy for her and feels it is important for people to have ways to navigate through dark phases.

"I love therapy, and I think it’s important to have those tools to navigate your life and relationships,” she said.

Clarkson added, “I cannot express how appreciative I feel for having that kind of healthy outlet,” she said.
