LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kelly Osbourne is crossing her fingers that years of consuming drugs and alcohol might prevent her from getting cancer.

The 39-year-old made this surprising revelation on a recent episode of the 'Osbournes Podcast,' saying, “I’m hoping that I’ve embalmed myself so I don’t ever get cancer. I’m pickled from all the drugs and alcohol, for sure.”

Osbourne pointed out that cancer runs in her family, noting that her mother, Sharon Osbourne, was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in the early 2000s. “Apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree,” Kelly added, acknowledging the family history.

However, her brother Jack Osbourne, 38, expressed skepticism about her theory, responding, “I don’t think it works that way. But I’m no doctor.”

Kelly has been candid about her struggles with addiction, which began at the age of 13 when she was prescribed Vicodin following a tonsillitis surgery.

During a 2021 appearance on 'Red Table Talk,' she shared that the medication helped silence her negative self-talk and self-esteem issues. “Very quickly, it went from Vicodin to Percocet, from Percocet to… to heroin, eventually, because it was cheaper,” she recounted.

After being caught buying heroin, her mother promptly put her in rehab the next day.

Over the years, Kelly has been in and out of rehab multiple times, admitting that at her lowest points, she couldn’t go anywhere without consuming some form of substance. At one stage, she would drink several bottles of alcohol by herself.

In 2017, Kelly decided to give up alcohol, but she relapsed four years later before quickly recommitting to sobriety. “This is something I am going to battle for the rest of my life,” she told 'Extra' in April 2021. “It’s never going to be easy.”

Kelly Osbourne's cancer prevention comment has ignited a flurry of reactions online, with many expressing skepticism and concern over her unconventional belief.

One user commented, "That's not how that works, sweetie! Alcohol is a massive carcinogen."

Another user took a more critical tone, writing, "Tell us you didn’t finish school without telling us you didn’t finish school."

Expressing hope that Kelly wasn't serious, another user wrote, "I'm hoping she was joking."

One user offered a more nuanced take, suggesting that Kelly's remark might be a mix of sarcasm and a plea for support: "Sarcasm and a cry for support, lost in a family of dubious fame. No, you can't expect the excesses of your life to be a vaccine for any future disease. Stay the course."

Another comment focused on Kelly's appearance, stating, "One look at Kelly and you immediately assume that she is in fact 'Embalmed.'"
