Kelly Osbourne’s final promise to Ozzy revealed as his ‘favorite child’ steps up for grieving family

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND: Kelly Osbourne tried to remain composed as she honored her late father's wishes during a heartfelt farewell in Birmingham on July 30.
She fulfilled a personal promise made to him before his death, as thousands of people lined the streets to pay their respects to the Prince of Darkness.
Kelly Osbourne keeps promise to Ozzy by staying strong at his funeral
Behind her father Ozzy Osbourne’s signature round sunglasses, Kelly fought back tears while holding her grieving mother, Sharon.
In a deeply emotional moment, Sharon crouched to place a single rose among floral tributes at the Black Sabbath Bridge as the crowd mourned and chanted "Ozzy, Ozzy" and "We love you Sharon."

The weight of the moment overwhelmed Kelly briefly, as she paused to embrace her brother Jack Osbourne still trying to act strong.
“The last few days have been a tough ride, but Kelly has been focused on executing plans with her mum,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Of course there have been tears, but she promised her dad, who openly spoke about not wanting people to mourn but rather celebrate his life, that she would not crumble in public.”

According to the insider, Ozzy “always pushed them to celebrate what people have done in life, not f*****g worry about what's next,” a mindset Kelly has adopted while facing the loss.

While Kelly Osbourne continues to honor her father’s wishes, she has become increasingly worried about her mother.
Loved ones close to the Osbournes are reportedly concerned about how Sharon is coping with the loss.

“Those close to the family are said to be extremely ‘concerned about the impact this is having on Sharon,’” the insider said.
“She and Ozzy were such a unique couple [and] them being apart is heartbreaking," the sources added.
Still, Kelly is determined to be her mother’s pillar of strength. Their relationship as a family, particularly between Kelly and Ozzy, was well known.
“Kelly will now be there for Sharon,” the insider said, crediting the “very unique bond” she had with her father.

Ozzy once told Rolling Stone that he and Kelly were “like two peas in a pod,” joking, “If I’ve got a favorite kid, it’s Kelly.” He even laughed that his other children “knew how he felt.”
Ozzy Osbourne wanted Kelly to find love and start a family
For Ozzy Osbourne, seeing his daughter happy in love was one of his biggest dreams.
Jack Osbourne, 39, is already a father to four children, Pearl, 11, Andy, seven, Minnie, five, and baby Maple with his second wife Aree Gearhart, while Kelly has long cherished her role as aunt.

“Ozzy was Kelly’s biggest champion in her career and in love,” the insider said. “He was really an emotional teddy bear when it came to the kids.”
“One of his hopes was always that Kelly would find the right partner and fulfil her dream to start a family,” the source continued. “For years she had been the doting auntie to Jack’s babies and as aunt and granddad they had enjoyed that experience together.”

Notably, Kelly’s fiance, Sid Wilson, 48, a member of the band Slipknot, proposed to her at the end of her father’s final show in a deeply meaningful tribute.
A video posted on Instagram captured the moment. Wilson turned to Kelly and said, “Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world.” Right then, Ozzy, 76, jumped in with a classic dad moment: “F**k off, you’re not marrying my daughter.”
