Kelly Rowland's representative opens up on Kelly Rowland's walk-off from 'Today' amid dressing room row, calls her 'most amiable'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Kelly Rowland surprised many after walking-off from the ‘Today’ show at the last moment where she was supposed to co-host with Hoda Kotb.
After the senior host addressed the situation, the singer’s representative released a statement to clarify the dressing room controversy.
“After 28 years of knowing her, Kelly Rowland remains one of the kindest, most amiable humans I have ever met and have had the blessing to represent,” Yvette Noel-Schure told via Entertainment Tonight.
Rita Ora to the rescue
Her spot was filled in by Rita Ora, who was scheduled for an interview on the show.
The ‘For You’ singer shared a picture over social media sitting next to Hoda Kotb. "Well, this happened! We had two minutes to prepare ahhh, thank you @hodaandjenna for asking me to co-host the show,” she wrote
"Everyone was so lovely and kind, I had SO much fun doing it!! 💗💗💗 Love to everyone that tuned in, maybe we should do more??!!!," she added.
Earlier, PageSix reported that Kelly was disappointed with the dressing room given to her. A source claimed, “Kelly and her team were not happy. They did not like the dressing room, so they decided to pull her off the show, leaving [Kotb] without a guest host for the 10 am hour.”
The insider added, “She’s beloved at ‘Today.’ She was getting the full hour, and Hoda was the biggest hype woman on the planet! It made no sense.”
Kelly Rowland left despite Hoda Kotb's efforts
Despite the best efforts of ‘Today’ and Hoda, Kelly’s team was not happy. “They didn’t want that. [The show] basically offered up as much as possible, but they weren’t happy with it, so they walked and they left,” the source said.
The co-host on Tuesday, February 20, brought up the subject while sitting next to Jenna Bush Hager for whom the singer was supposed to fill in last week.

“I just want to say this: I have great love and admiration for Kelly Rowland. I adore her, and I want her to come back on our show, and I want her to host again,” Kotb said on ‘Today with Hoda & Jenna.'
“But anyway, I just want to say we love her. We’ve loved her on this show for many, many years,” she added.
A source reportedly told the outlet, “Kelly and her team were not happy. They did not like the dressing room, so they decided to pull her off the show, leaving [Kotb] without a guest host for the 10 am hour.”
