Kenneth Mitchell dies at 49: Fans heartbroken over death of 'Star Trek’ actor due to ALS
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kenneth Mitchell, known for his work in ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ series and ‘Captain Marvel’, died on Saturday, February 24, at age 49.
He had reportedly been battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) since 2018. According to Mayo Clinic ALS is “a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS causes loss of muscle control. The disease gets worse over time."

Also, the statement added, as per The Daily Beast, “For five and a half years, Ken faced a series of awful challenges from ALS. And in truest Ken fashion, he managed to rise above each one with grace and commitment to living a full and joyous life in each moment.”
Fans pay tribute to Kenneth Kitchell after his death
Fans remembered Mitchell, who also appeared in ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘The Astronauts Wives Club’, and ‘Grey's Anatomy’, after his death.

Another one said, “I, like many of his fans, were dreading this day. I cannot imagine what he and his family have gone through during this journey. I hope there were many days of joy and beautiful memories in the midst of this cruel disease. He is and will remain one of the best character actors I have seen.
“I really enjoyed what he brought to the screen. More importantly, through his social media posts I got a glimpse of the wonderful human behind the characters. Rest in power, Mr Mitchell. Endure in love to the rest of his people.”
The third one shared, “I will remember him forever. I ran into him on an excursion for the Star Trek cruise and we compared wheelchairs. His spirit was gentle and curious. May his life continue in our hearts.”
