LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Costner is opening his heart to love once more, setting the record straight about his rumored relationship with singer Jewel.

Since finalizing his divorce from Christine Baumgartner in September 2023, 69-year-old Kevin Costner has been candid about the emotional toll the split took on him.

However, he has consistently emphasized that his children kept him grounded, and prioritizing them helped him navigate the difficult period.

Kevin Costner opens up about falling in love again

While speaking to the outlet, Costner was asked about his thoughts on finding love again. The 'Dances With Wolves' star responded affirmatively, saying, "Yeah, I think everybody would like to be in love.” He continued, "There's such a good feeling that's associated with that. It may have to be defined in a different way, but yeah, I love the idea of that possibility."

Meanwhile, he also talked about how he was navigating through his life following the divorce. "You just do it," Costner said, before adding, "You just keep talking, you keep coaching [the kids], you keep interested in what they're interested in ... I had to.”

The ‘Silverado’ star shares three of his youngest children with Baumgartner - sons Cayden, 17, and Hayes, 15, plus daughter Grace, 14.

Despite the end of his two-decade marriage, the father-of-seven hasn't given up on romance. He boldly stated, "I’m not going to let anything harden my heart."

Despite the challenges, the ‘Field of Dreams’ star was full of gratitude as he talked about his long career.

As he is awaiting the release of his ‘Horizon: The American Saga’ on June 28, Costner said with gratitude, “I’ve had an incredibly unusual — and, for the most part, beautiful — life.”

He added, “I’ve taken some really big bites out of life, and life has taken some really big ones out of me, and I’ve never let it harden me and I’m not going to.”

“It’s really about the children,” said Costner, before adding, “I am still teaching my kids. And by the way, I’m still learning.”

Kevin Costner opens up about Jewel

While Costner is signaling that he is open for love, he is also shooting down rumors regarding his alleged relationship with Jewel

He shared that while he "would like that," he is still decisively single and not dating the songstress.

During a recent appearance on ‘The Howard Stern Show,’ Costner shared, “Jewel and I are friends. We've never gone out — ever. She's special, and I don't want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that is what we have. She's special."

Costner gushed, "She's beautiful enough to go out with," while adding, "We don't have a romance, and we've not dated. She's beautiful and smart enough — it just has never happened for us.”

“But she's everything you might think. It just hasn't happened,” he continued, “I have to explain to my kids. They're like, 'Where is she?' That's the truth. You can't stop that. It's whatever, but she's special.”

Costner added, “I would like that. I love women; there's something about them."
