Khazar Momeni: Sister of Bob Lee's alleged killer found high on fentanyl and cocaine in hit-and-run case
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Khazar Momeni, the sister of Nima Momeni, the alleged killer of Cash App founder Bob Lee, is facing additional legal troubles.
The prosecution revealed that Khazar was under the influence of fentanyl, cocaine, and nitrous oxide when she reportedly crashed her $150,000 Mercedes into several parked cars in San Francisco on November 27.
Khazar Momeni faces dual narcotics anonymous sessions requirement
The 38-year-old socialite was a no-show at her recent hearing in San Francisco's Hall of Justice on Monday, February 26, where she was ordered to attend two Narcotics Anonymous sessions a week by Judge Gail Dekreon.
Khazar's lawyer, John Lee, entered a not-guilty plea on her behalf, and a follow-up hearing is scheduled for April 17.
According to John, Khazar's connection to the high-profile Cash App founder case led the District Attorney's office to request two Narcotics Anonymous sessions per week instead of the initially proposed one.
Khazar's brother, Momeni, is currently in custody, awaiting trial for Lee's murder. Her recent arrest in November involved charges of driving under the influence, hit-and-run, failure to drive within the lane, and failure to provide insurance at the scene of an accident.
Intoxicated Khazar Momeni trembling encounter with police
The incident, captured on video portrayed a chaotic scene as Khazar allegedly tried to avoid arrest. "You're not taking me in, right?" she inquires, trembling as a police officer handcuffs her behind her back. "But I'm not going anywhere, why are you placing me in handcuffs? Does this mean you're taking me to jail?" reported Daily Mail.
The bystander footage revealed Khazar's erratic behavior, with witnesses describing her as "high as hell." The video also showed a large 'whippets' canister alongside her designer handbag on the car's driver's seat.
This incident unfolded in the Tenderloin District, a troubled area in San Francisco, just a mile away from the luxury condominium shared by Khazar and her plastic surgeon husband, Dino Elyassnia.
Khazar Momeni's second DUI arrest under investigation
However, it is not the first time Khazar has faced DUI charges. She was also arrested in September on suspicion of DUI in Marin County after crashing her Mercedes into another parked car. The case remains under review.
Khazar has been a visible supporter of her brother, Momeni, since the latter's arrest in April. As the trial is expected to start in spring, the defense has requested a change of venue, arguing that local media coverage has the potential to prejudice the jury.
Momeni entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of killing Lee and could potentially face a sentence of 26 years to life if convicted.
