Khyree Jackson passed away after a three-car crash occurred at 3.14 am local time on Saturday in Prince George's County, per police, ESPN noted.

Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton Jr, the two former players who were high school teammates of Jackson's, were the other fatalities from the crash.

Hazel, 23, played for Maryland and Charlotte, while Lytton, 24, represented Florida State and Penn State.

According to authorities, Hazel was driving a Dodge Charger with Jackson in the passenger seat when their car was struck by an Infiniti Q50 trying to change lanes at a high speed. The Charger went off-road and struck multiple tree stumps.

No injuries were reported from Infiniti Q50, which had two passengers in it. Police suspect that the driver of the vehicle may have been intoxicated at the time of the freak accident.

Jackson played college football for Fort Scott, Alabama, and Oregon before the Vikings picked him in the fourth round of this year’s draft. Jackson was named First Team All Pac-12 in his final season with the Ducks.

He went on to play the 2021 National Championship game with Alabama.

“His confidence and engaging personality immediately drew his teammates to him,” said Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell on Saturday.

“In our short time together, it was evident Khyree was going to develop into a tremendous professional football player but what was most impressive was his desire to become the best person he could be for his family and those around him.”
