WASHINGTON, DC: Kid Rock fired back at critics of his Super Bowl halftime performance, announcing he will release a live, living-room performance to silence the haters who claimed he lip-synced his halftime music.
The move comes after the rocker faced widespread online ridicule for his set at Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show” on Sunday, February 8.
Kid Rock breaks silence on lip-syncing issues at TPUSA’s halftime show
When asked about his lip-syncing during TPUSA’s All-American Halftime Show, Kid Rock responded, “Yeah, so it was out of sync and actually just to have some fun with the haters. I can't answer all the trolls, but it's going to be some fun.”
He announced plans for a live performance, saying, “My DJ, who actually raps that song with me, he was not lit up. He's coming to Nashville tonight flying in, and we're gonna do that live in my living room.”
Rock emphasized his goal to show fans how the performance really worked: “I'm gonna post it tomorrow to show people exactly how this works because number one if they would have been a lip syncing like people are trying lip syncing like people are trying to.”
He also addressed the backlash, adding, “You know, you know, the left is trying to throw me under the bus again and the mainstream media and social media tries to amplify it and would have been super easy to sink it up if it was pre-recorded.”
Describing the challenges of performing live, he explained, “It was very difficult for, um, the Turning Point production crew, who, by the way, I can't say enough good things about, but this was very difficult for him. I'm jumping around the stage, like a rabid monkey rapping my song, and I'm taking breaths. My DJ's filling in the other parts of it."
He concluded by reflecting on the technical issues, “I even told him when I saw the rough cut. I was, like, you guys got to work on that sync, it's off. So it was just a syncing issue that they had, and I know they tried to get it right. It was very difficult, but I'll answer all the haters tomorrow. And then, uh, we'll put him back in.”
Kid Rock’s voice blared as he lip-synced at TPUSA show
Kid Rock hit the stage with high energy, launching into his 1998 hit 'Bawitdaba.'
But things quickly went awry as close-up shots revealed that he was lip-syncing through most of the song. Fans cheered from both sides of the stage while his voice blared from the speakers, even though his mouth wasn’t moving.
He jumped around, tore off his black bowler hat, and maintained a high-octane performance as flames shot up around the stage. Behind him, an American flag displayed his name in bright yellow lights. Despite the theatrics, viewers immediately noticed the lip-syncing, sparking a flood of posts on X.

During an interview with Laura Ingraham, Kid Rock also clapped back at critics of his halftime show.
He said, "They're just not smart enough to realize all they're doing, these people are just basically my promo machine!"
He added with a laugh, "No one likes Kid Rock. They either love me or people hate me. And the people that love me, all these people do is amplify anything I have going on, so people go, oh, Kid Rock's playing at halftime. Where do I watch it? So, thank you, haters!"
