Kid Rock trolled over performance at pal Donald Trump's MAGA Victory Rally: 'Making America embarrassed'
WASHINGTON, DC: Kid Rock took the stage at President-elect Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again Victory Rally on Sunday, January 19.
Held at the Capitol One Arena in Washington, DC, the rally saw the rocker perform hits like 'All Summer Long', 'We the People', and 'Bawitdaba'. The veteran performer was clad in a black tank top, dark blue jeans, sneakers, and his signature black fedora.
However, not everyone was cheering. While the crowd at the arena seemed to enjoy the show, critics online had a completely different take, as per the Daily Express.
Kid Rock mocked for 'cringe' performance at Donald Trump's MAGA Victory Rally
Kid Rock’s performance quickly made waves on social media, where critics did not hold back.
One unimpressed viewer said, "I'm watching the Trump victory rally and Kid Rock is very cringe," and another added, "Someone needs to tell Kid Rock he has no talent. What a sad performance for Donald Trump's Victory Rally at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC."
"Kid Rock sucks. He’s irrelevant. He hasn’t had a hit song in 20 years. Even the music of the Republican Party is going backwards. This isn’t making America great. It’s making America embarrassed," read another comment.
"Switched on TV - Kid Rock performing at Trump Victory Rally- my god that guy is sooo bad - makes my ears bleed," someone else expressed.
"I see the @KidRock is performing at Trump Victory rally guess it's the only way he can make any money since he is now a washed-up nobody that no one wants to listen to his music anymore," read a comment.
"Crazy to think I attended Clinton gala in 1993 to see Fleetwood Mac, Michael Jackson, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elton John, Judy Collins, Barbara Streisand, and so many others, including a whose who of jazz greats. My, have the times and the talent changed," another person wrote.

Kid Rock and Donald Trump's friendship
Despite unending criticism for his political leanings, Kid Rock has remained unfazed. His loyalty to Donald Trump isn’t new—it’s a relationship that’s been building for years.
Born Robert James Ritchie, Kid Rock first connected with the MAGA spearhead in 2017 during a White House meeting arranged by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The meeting also included rocker Ted Nugent and marked the beginning of an unlikely bond.
Even before this introduction, Kid Rock was already a fan of Trump’s 2016 campaign. "I’m digging Donald Trump. My feeling: Let the business guy run it like a business. And his campaign has been entertaining as s**t," he told Rolling Stone at the time.
By 2022, their friendship had blossomed. Speaking on 'Tucker Carlson Tonight', the 54-year-old rocker recounted, "We ended up becoming buddies. [We] spend a lot of time [together] at the golf course now. It's really weird to get phone calls from him and stuff. It's kind of mind-blowing."
Their friendship wasn’t just limited to golf outings and casual chats. Kid Rock revealed that Trump occasionally sought his advice on foreign policy matters during his presidency. Even after the president-elect left office, their bond remained strong. They have been frequently spotted together at high-profile events like UFC fights in the last couple of years.
As Trump geared up for the 2024 presidential campaign, Kid Rock stayed by his side. He even performed at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in July 2024.
Trump returned the favor by publicly praising his friend during his nomination acceptance speech. "He became a friend of mine over the last ten years, and he's amazing," the 78-year-old said. Surprised by Kid Rock’s popularity, he added, "Everyone loves him. I didn't even know how big he was."
