Kim Kardashian and Kanye West appear distant during awkward encounter at son Saint's basketball game
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a surprising turn of events, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had an awkward run-in at their son Saint's basketball game, marking a rare public appearance together since their divorce.
The former couple, who have been navigating the complexities of co-parenting, were spotted at the basketball game to support their son. While they both maintained a casual appearance, the encounter seemed to have moments of tension.

Kim Kardashian, clad in a black baseball cap and white tank top, appeared cordial as she greeted Kanye West on Friday, January 19. The rapper wore a black T-shirt in pictures obtained by PageSix. Their daughter Chicago stood between them during the interaction.
Photographs captured the unique dynamics of their encounter, with Kim texting while standing near Kanye, who had his back to the camera. Notably, their other children, North and Psalm, were not present at the game.
The meeting comes after Kim Kardashian openly discussed the challenges of co-parenting with Kanye West in a December 2022 interview, coinciding with the finalization of their divorce. She acknowledged that co-parenting was "really f–king hard" and emphasized her efforts to shield their children from their father's public controversies.

Kim Kardashian spoke about her late father, Robert Kardashian, being the "best dad" and expressed her desire for her children to have positive memories of West.
“I had the best memories and the greatest experience and that’s all I want for my kids as long as they can have that,” Kardashian said.
Acknowledging the complexities of co-parenting, Kardashian stated, "That’s what I would want for them. If they don’t know the things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them? That’s really heavy grown-up s–t that they’re not ready to deal with."
Despite his struggles with co-parenting, West has revealed that he had to "fight" for his voice to be heard.
Kanye asserted his rights as a father, stating that men's voices matter in co-parenting decisions. In a September 2022 interview, West highlighted his role as a dad and a Christian, emphasizing his right to have a say in matters related to his children's lives.
“I’m their dad,” the 'Gold Digger' rapper said during an interview with 'Good Morning America' in September 2022.
“It’s not up to only the woman. Like, men have a choice also. Men’s voices matter,” he continued. “As a dad and as a Christian … I have a right to have a voice on what my kids are wearing, what they’re watching, what they’re eating,” West added.
