Kim Kardashian dubbed ‘selfish’ as she faces eco-terrorism accusation after private jet makes five trips on single day

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian faced backlash on social media when it was revealed that her private jet was making five flights on a single day, leading to accusations of eco-terrorism.

Adding to the attention, Kardashian surprised social media users by attending her ex-husband Kanye West's 'Vultures' listening party, recently. What caught even more attention was her seemingly friendly interaction with West's current wife, Bianca Censori.

Further fueling the controversy, social media users criticized Kardashian when her eldest daughter, North West, whom she shares with Kanye, announced the release of her debut album titled 'Elementary School Dropout' at the age of 10, following her father's footsteps into the music industry.

According to the Daily Mail, Kardashian has been under fire for her excessive use of private jets, with over 30 flights recorded since January 1, 2024. This includes an astonishing five flights on a single day, as well as numerous short trips lasting only around ten minutes.

Despite mounting criticism over the environmental impact of private jet travel, Kardashian hasn't shown any signs of cutting back on her usage this year.

The Daily Mail reports that her jet has been used for 15 trips this year, many of which were less than 40 minutes long, with eight flights lasting less than 15 minutes in the air.

The environmental toll of Kardashian's jet-setting lifestyle is significant. Flights tracked by the Instagram account @kimkjet asserted that her plane has consumed over 35,420 gallons of fuel and emitted 425 tons of CO2 emissions.

As per Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator, this is equivalent to the energy consumption of 55 houses or the electricity usage of 83 homes in one year. To reverse this damage, Kardashian would need to plant 7,027 trees and let them grow for a decade.

Kardashian bought a Gulfstream G650ER jet in 2022 for a reported $95 million. After customizing the aircraft, its estimated value rose to $150 million. Known as Kim Air, the jet was revealed to the public on an episode of her family's reality show, 'The Kardashians', which airs on Hulu.
